Nathan Cleary

Nathan Clearly will be here in 2019 that's why he has not resigned with the Panthers for the last year which Gus has wanted get the season done bring on Luni the young half Penrith has with Maloney for two seasons 2019 2020 let him learn it's done relax Brooks 5/8 Clearly in the number 7

That's all well and good if Cleary does end up coming a year early, but how about us signing some decent forwards first! He'll be about as effective as Brooks already is anyway playing behind the pack we have now (minus the ones leaving at year's end). He's had the luxury of playing behind a dominant Penrith pack with Maloney beside him - how well do you reckon he will go with our current lot? Unless there are going to be some significant signings up front to bolster our pack, signing Cleary for next season will be a waste of time, imo.

Cleary this year hasn't been anywhere as good with Maloney beside him. He was much more dominate last year with Moylan there and there pack wasn't as dominant last year.

Cleary needs to be the main playmaker which brooks has struggled with. Brooks plays his best when Benji is calling the shots.

I think having Cleary at 7 and brooks at 6 improves our team big time for next year

Anyone talking up Brooks after the Bulldogs game is “dreaming”.

It just does not sink in …Brooks has had 100games to impress , tied of if he had a great pack this does not equate to his decision making when the pressure is on or in the red zone .
Is this club ever going to progress from the potential mentality.

If you can't see that Brooks has improved immnesly this season then you're watching the wrong games

Go look at his stats alone

Chuck Brooks in a Dragons or Storm kit and he could be the best half in the game….. he's playing in a pack where his forwards all struggle to get 100 m and maybe one will hit it

He has been our best this season and there's no competition

Pointless Teddy, you're wasting your time arguing with those two idiots you have quoted.

What do we do with Reynolds? Lock? Centre? Dummy half with Liddle? Release, if so to who?

Reynolds has already stated that he would happily go to the UK if things didn't work out at the Tigers.

Say something you didn't like, Mrs Brooks? :unamused:
No one is denying his defence has improved - it's consistent game management and decision making that are seriously lacking.
I like the kid but when do the excuses stop?
First it was Farah holding him back, then Moses, then… nobody, but our team was disrupted.
This year he said himself he is going to 'own the team', only for his apologists to blame Marshall and then Farah ... and the old 'hard to shine behind a beaten pack' chestnut.
Could be the best half in the game behind a good pack?
No team with a good pack wanted him.
As for stats?
The only one we should be interested in is Wins v Losses ... and we need a more consistent halfback to get us into the positive.
Hope that was clearer for you.

Luni injury does not help things.

Panthers should never have played him at full back. It was a real development set back. He is injured pretty bad ain't he?

His injury won't affect Nathan and a potential release. They could easily play Tyrone May at 6 and Maloney at 7\. They have plenty of options.

Pick you up on one point ck.

He was made an offer to go to the Storm (who have a reasonable pack imo), he chose to sign with us.

And he means it. Reynolds is the solution not the problem. When Cleary don't see any value in him for Wests he won't be at Wests and likely to cost the club nil.

100% agree, and I will say Brooks has improved his defence this year, but game management he has zilch.
Also those sprouting he leads the NRL in forced drop outs, Ash Taylor leads the NRL in try assists and most on here think he is a dud and Brooks is better, if I could have my half have the most forced drop outs, or most try assists, it is a no brainer.

From the nrl rumours forgotten man Facebook page

Hearing very loudly that Nathan Cleary will be a Tiger in 2019! As it stands currently if a decision was to be made today he would choose the Tigers he is still unclear on what he wants to do but is leaning towards a move to reunite with his dad!

If Griffin was to get the sack that would help Penrith retain Cleary but it seems likely he’ll remain due to the high payout of Griffins contract….

Rumours of Luke Brooks going to Penrith are true as they’re interested but I’ve been told Brooks wants to remain at the Tigers and very well will take less to remain at the club!

6\. Luke Brooks
7\. Nathan Cleary

How does that sound Wests Tigers fans!

Very credible source I can promise you guys!!

If this is true , my comment would be , what a great attitude from Brooks

Yep, might not have been the best out of the big four but definitely the least douchey. Also has finally showed glimpses of what he can really do this season, been one of our best this year and can't deny that.

Whilst I have been hard on Brooks for his game management, you are right about his attitude, can't fault that

The evidence was on the Forum at the time the "Big Four" drama was unfolding. If you would like to go back through the archives you'll find it as I am not going to do it for you. I don't need to as I know it's true.
