Some people just crave being offended. No doubt in ten years time the new word 'one' will be deemed offensive because they'll say it implies there is no diversity.

Yep they do. Just like the PM changed the words from "Australian's sons let us rejoice" to "Australians all let us rejoice" in the 80s the current PM can change the words via the GG.

Why is it insulting ? I tell you my problem with all of this stuff. You can't win. Aboriginals don't like it and even worse are the non-Indigenous Australians who take everything as an affront.

It's already changed and I think it's a good idea.

At some point Indigenous Australians need to realize that like all human beings they need to create good lives for themselves. I understand that they have copped it in multiple ways.

I feel exactly the same way about every broad social justice issue. Sure fix any specific detail that we can but don't let those details hold you back from leading a good life.

Why is it insulting? Indigenous people having been saying for years they've an issue with the song. Essentially by changing one word the interpretation is hey we've changed a word now you should be happy. But really why would anyone against the anthem suddenly be happy because one word has changed. The issues go beyond one word within the song. It's insulting to them that they think it would appease them. Any changes to the current anthem will not do, only a change of anthem.

Having said that it is intended as a step in the right direction, not as an insult. I believe it should be viewed (from both sides) as such.
I also think there are far bigger issues for all concerned than the anthem and can't understand why people on either side are so outraged by the stance of those on the other side.

I assume you are agreeing with me. You just can't win. So much effort is made to try and improve the situation but it doesn't seem to ever appease anyone. Like I said I find the people who aren't indigenous who get offended even worse.

Clowns like Anthony Mundine will always have a problem regardless of what ever happens.
