I would be giving Benji another go to see if he has improved the areas he was asked to work on. Josh is awkward in attack, as is Doueihi and having them both in the side makes our attack a little disjointed in my opinion.

Doueihi stops and starts a little when running to the line but his footwork at the line is really great which is why he is always pushing through the defensive line. Josh is just a little erratic and his passing isn't strong enough, so our backline looks a little disjointed.

Disagree with some of the criticism of the ref. In some ways we bossed him around. We slowed the game down a bunch for the first 60 with players resting, some legit and some questionable. He allowed us to do it.

Just got home. I like the fact that we are in the fight and I’m glad we muscle up. All good. But until we stop making unforced errors and play with discipline we’ll always be middle runners. Their first try came from a dropped ball by Garner. Their second came after a stupid play by Reynolds where the smart option would have been to kick deep not throw a speculator across field.
This game was there for us but we didn’t stay composed.

A lot of booing. People were getting manic but really our mistakes cost us - not reffing. Geez we got so many 6 again calls in the first half.

gave away the stupid penalty that led to the field goal. brain explosion at the end. He may not have cost us the game but he didn't help us in any way. Also didn't pass to Nofo when he should have (Nofo prob would have scored imo).

I never said he favoured us. But he did genuinely allow us to take plenty of time where some refs wouldn't have and where in the past we wouldn't have been smart or bold enough to do it.

Yeah he made some crap calls. I didn't see the Garner knock on either but don't we have a captain's challenge to correct that mistake? Or the nonsense Mansour play the ball call? I saw some people on here saying Douhei didn't take the ball into touch. He did. I saw some people on here saying Api hit Luciano on purpose when that's really quite a stretch. It was those overreactions I'm talking about when I mention the refs.

The ref didn't make BJ decide not to pass when he had the overlap. He didn't make Chee Kam miss the tackle that led to the try. He didn't make Brooks put in two crap grubbers close to the line. He didn't cause Eisenhuth to be offside on a kick chase or make BJ hit a guy for now reason. He didn't lose us the game, the players did and we wouldn't be complaining if we'd won. Simple.

The game was already over when BJ went pork chop mode .

Nofa getting pulled up for a quick play the ball off the mark, but then was allowed to play the ball a metre & half in front of where he played it originally. Lol!

Reynolds takes a dummy half run, catches Kikau offside, even the commentators said he was clearly offside, and he tackled Reynolds on his own.

The Garner knock on where they scored 6 points straight after.

The stripping penalty when the boys were trying to drag Crichton into touch.

There were so many. But this was the same ref we had to challenge his tackle count in the game against the Sharks.

Disagree with some of the criticism of the ref. In some ways we bossed him around. We slowed the game down a bunch for the first 60 with players resting, some legit and some questionable. He allowed us to do it.

Sure we bossed him around so much he gave us all the favorable calls.

I never said he favoured us. But he did genuinely allow us to take plenty of time where some refs wouldn't have and where in the past we wouldn't have been smart or bold enough to do it.

Yeah he made some crap calls. I didn't see the Garner knock on either but don't we have a captain's challenge to correct that mistake? Or the nonsense Mansour play the ball call? I saw some people on here saying Douhei didn't take the ball into touch. He did. I saw some people on here saying Api hit Luciano on purpose when that's really quite a stretch. It was those overreactions I'm talking about when I mention the refs.

The ref didn't make BJ decide not to pass when he had the overlap. He didn't make Chee Kam miss the tackle that led to the try. He didn't make Brooks put in two crap grubbers close to the line. He didn't cause Eisenhuth to be offside on a kick chase or make BJ hit a guy for now reason. He didn't lose us the game, the players did and we wouldn't be complaining if we'd won. Simple.

We made some dumb errors agreed
But some of the refs calls were deadset momentum killers

Kikau not being called square at marker when he tackled BJ

Penrith decoy runner taking out one of our defenders ( penalty all day )

Kikau’s 2 high shots not going punished
Etc....

Kirosau’s dog shot on Lucy which has gone unpunished and killed of that set

All piss poor decisions which are massive momentum changers

AND I didn't say we didn't lose the game because of the Ref - but he didn't do us any favours. Just one six again or a penalty under the new rules can lose you momentum for 10-15 minutes and it is very difficult to get it back. That sort of thing can lose you the game.
