New coach

i wouldnt be keen on a new coach purely for the financial hit. seriously, is smith any better? the stories about that guy at all the clubs he's coached at are not great either.

I'm no Smith fan but you can't deny he has the ability to turn teams around in a rebuilding phase. No more than a 2 year contract though..

You have to laugh. Yes people Brian Smith can build a club but he also leaves clubs in a mess as well. Why would a coach sign with us when we can't pay them out. I feel for Potter, I think the WT are pushing him to leave without a sacking.

I've said it before and i will say it again a joke of a coach!
How many of u fools can not see it, they r not motivated, they r rudder less. The coach is to blame for the bad plays, defensive patterns, the second efforts that aren't there due to a coach who is a fool!
Para we got beaten by para! Now that is new low, we deserve the spoon.
And all u potter lovers suck it up. That was pathetic and close to the worst from our team.
Potter can coach 20's or state cup pay the idiot for that and give payten the chance, or Neil Henry not those other potter look alikes.

Well said bud, to problem here to many blokes are smoking potter it's plain as day to see players arnt motivated and that is the coaches job.

We need coaching at board level, as that is where our greatest problems lay, closely followed by the cancer of player power that had been allowed to develop.

With all the crap about our coach lately, I have been thinking that Brian Smith would have been good for us this year. However, Harry has pretty well done all the blood letting that Smith is good at, and he should have the chance to put his structure in place.

Whilst I understand others not being happy and calling for his head based on this years performance (particularly that of certain players), he deserves to be judged objectively, and that cannot occur until he has some semblance of the roster (both playing and support staff) he wants/needs to put in place.

Support is the key word, without it nobody prospers. If any remaining contracted players are undermining Potter, they should be reprimanded or shown the door. Player power has to be stopped now, else the rot will continue.

No to Brian Smith … He is yesterday's coach .... And a definite No to Jason Taylor .... He is nothing but trouble.

I'd promote Todd Payten on a one year deal at a very low rate with an option for another year at a much higher rate if he achieves success in his first year. If they keep Potter there will only be more trouble ..... Just have to put it down to another Board Blunder.

Hey Tin-man, there's not a coach around could do much better with this lot.

I can't think of many coaches ever apart from Jack Gibson who took over a team with the majority of top liners unavailable, and took them to the top. Bennett has already shown he can only do good things with good teams.

Even Bellamy can only do it with the big 3 in the side.

Everyone expects Potter to win games with a side full of teenagers and others well past their used by date?

Some rookie coaches do well but take a look at the teams they have - Robinson at rooters and Toovey at Manly!

What Potter wouldn't give ….

Are you going to fork out 250,000 to pay him? We simply cannot afford to pay 3 individual coaches, two for doing SFA! Its ludicrous. We need to be stick by Potter, give him a year without deadwood and boys club members, hopefully an injury toll that doesnt have a whole starting 13 out, and a coaching staff of his choosing.

Motivating the team… The young players are motivated, you can see that on the field and players like Blair who has been absolutely lambasted on the forum in previous weeks and last year has picked up so much under Potter. Players like Bunji, Asyhford etc whom are leaving are the ones who honestly look like they couldn't give a flying F**k about what happens on the field. They got scared that a coach doesn't put up with their BS and doesnt let them have their little boys club to sip coffees and hold hands together. Potter has rid our club of deadwood and pushed up to a new dawn, young exciting players with a hell of a future, and god forbid if we didn't keep this team together, but their is a grand final on the doorstep with this team, a few years together, with POTTER, who blooded them and has pushed them to first grade putting his own neck on the line, a premiership could be beckoning

I think they should stick with Potter - He has cleared out the s*** as best as possible with Ayshfrod, Marshall, Pettybourne going next year.

Anasta - well he cant dump him at the moment unless he brings Sironen back to the halves and that would hurt Siro's career as he builds up for backrow.

We had 2 horrible players but most players have got better under Potter
Tedesco - Got better
Nofoaluma - Got better
Simona - Way way better
Ayshford - s*** and is going
Koroibete - Injured most of the yr but is getting better and better
Marshall - s*** and is going
Sue - Better
Fulton - ALways good
BMM -Better under Potter but still needs to work harder on fitness and effort
Blair - A thousand times better under Potter
Farah - His best year when on the field
Galloway - Always good but when fit has been great

Sironen - Better and better
Ava - Much better
Buchannan - Much better

So really we have had no halves all year and that isnt potters fault

Bring Folkes back as S&C/ Assistant , Bring in Brian Smith to help him out as the other assistant

Well said I am also going to post this in the other Potter thread.

Todd Payten - 1st Grade Coach

Matt Head - NYC Coach

We need to make huge changes at board level
Them talking to the media is despicable

On radio Potter gone next week ….Trent Barrett new coach a bit odd going straight to a rookie , the place is s shambles.

What's Barrett's credentials? seriously, hasn't been head coach anywhere at any time at any level unless I am mistaken ........I think I will put my hand up

I could do with a nice fat contract, turn up for 6 months in the best seats at the ground, get punted and do nothing for a year or so and get paid ..... Excellent

Brian Smith is just what the place needs. His knowledge of the game is unsurpassed. His coaching philosophy would erase the Sheens culture. He develops real footballers and won't tolerate pretenders.

These two said it all.

Spoke like a true fool.

Potter isn't going anywhere. It would be by far the dumbest decision ever made by the club and yes we have had some shockers in recent years. But blaming our current results on potter would show how low the club has gone. They would be willing to pay 2 coaches for nothing. ? If that happens members should leave in a mass exodus. Potter has arrived at a club run by a group of players who think they are bigger than the game itself. Not to mention the club has used the MOST players due to injury and we have had and always have had an overrated playmaker who quite obviously doesn't listen.

The players getting better has nothing to do with potter. Specially all the newbs. If anything you can thank sheens for that.

All this was behind the scenes that no one saw. The time and effort he out into the junior program will never be seen by most on this forum or in general.
