A brand new bespoke stadium at Liverpool would tick so many boxes:

Closer to Concord COE than Campbelltown, Westinvest funds so the gov can feel like it's providing something, one true home ground (can still have 2 special home games at Leichhardt like barra said), easy access. Am I missing something?

Liverpool is Bulldogs territory, it would suck as a home ground. Worse than WankWest.

Yeah but SFS is in pretty neutral territory. It’s an entertainment and sporting precinct and you won’t see much Roosters stuff there. Liverpool will be full of Bulldogs crap just like Parramatta is full of Eels crap when you walk down the streets from public transport.

Except for their training facilities? The Bulldog crap is just in your mind as we can own that area as it is in our territory.

As for the public, it’s not the tribal 1950’s anymore. You think everyone in Leichhardt supports the Tigers or everyone who lives in Parramatta supports the Eels?

I hope you are right and I am wrong, because if I am right and Liverpool is the home ground it will be the end of the Wests Tigers. At some point in the not to distance future, they will simply be taken over by the Bulldogs. Which is what the Bulldogs wanted in the first place.

I think what is more likely to cause damage is people refusing to attend a venue because it is not their preference.

Maybe not a preference as such but what is realistic to get to. If the fans can’t get there you are either done or you need new fans.

Yep. One of the easiest places to get to from anywhere in greater Sydney. Like I said above the whole of Sydney transport system is designed just to do that.

works both ways you work in cbd getting to campbletown for a 8pm games is tough too and sfs captures a cbd audience for Friday games

Yes this is a priority call for the government ANZ has to be redeveloped as it’s becoming a white elephant .. I would say the small stadium rubbish will be wiped including the Penrith stadium as that was pork barrelling.

Travel from Campbelltown to the city is easy. Hop on a train or the highway and point the car north and you are there. Same as if I’m travelling to Campbelltown, Point the car south and take the Campbelltown exit and you are there. If your argument is people from Campbelltown town won’t go to the SFS, that’s as weak as, they won’t even go to the CSS.

SFS makes a lot more sense for this (interstate) fan (and also someone that travels a fairly decent distance to watch games either at Lang Park or Redcliffe.)

I'd *still* much rather watch at Leichardt Oval though but understand the quaintness of that old style suburban ground isn't for everyone.

Interesting idea. Sell the tigers franchise to Easts Tigers in Brisbane but move Wests to Campbelltown as the magpies. Balmain aligns with Easts as a feeder club.

There is no way the club will set up home at a small suburban ground that would be Financal suicide … as of next season there are three major stadiums that the club can choose from this is where there going just which one !

Growth in an area is a non event it’s about bums on seats and the most important fact remains it’s about how much a supporter is willing to pay for there family to attend games .. the lager stadiums in theory should cost less to attend as the smaller stadium in a so called growth area with limited seats will cost more supply and demand ! This is already happening at Leichhardt gouging to try to break even.
