The idea that you need to be based in Camden to recruit juniors is complete and utter BS. If you are successful on the field young players will come. Melbourne storm has their juniors based in the Sunshine Coast FFS.

And also Brisbane (formerly Easts) Tigers as a feeder club. Somehow this works spectacularly and isn't a 'confusing' development pathway for them.

As it currently stands, I see no point in spending money on this team - time on the forum is enough!

Looks good

would love the new SFS
Roosters don't have fans anyway and we don't have a opposition leagues club right next door and close to public transport

Except it is in the Eastern Suburbs

and bankwest is in Parramatta so what
Liverpool would be shared with Dogs anyway
we were at sfs once
go back there at least now it is a quality stadium and transport

We are called Wests Tigers and it would be stupid to play in the East. Liverpool is in our catchment area.

I think we need to make a decision beyond just what our name is. If the best decision is Campbelltown then so be it I embrace that but it has to be a better reason then “our name is Wests”

Well how about "our name is Wests Tigers" and C'town is the fastest growing area in Aust with lots of little kiddies waiting to be indoctrinated in the way of Wests Tigers?

why would we want to share with the Dogs
very bad idea

Why would we want to share with Souths and Easts in the Eastern Suburbs?

No one is saying they want to, but the reality is we play in Sydney where there are limited grounds we can choose from.

Leichhardt and Campbelltown aren't up to scratch for us to choose them as suburban grounds. We can pick from Bankwest, ANZ or SFS.

I don't think it matters personally, but some do for various reasons. My only oversion to Bankwest is that it is still Parramatta stadium. ANZ and SFS are not tarnished in the same way.

I understand your point about the stadiums location, but this is a technicality. You can walk from Central or take a quick taxi very easily and most people do on game day.

I can see why there'd be support for the SFS. It has the best atmosphere when compared to ANZ by far. I can also see why some fans would prefer a city location so they can make a night of it when the game is over. ANZ has a couple of pubs that close early and can be a pain with the whole changing trains thing as well. Hard to make a day/night of it out there.

For the record, I'm ok with ANZ or SFS as long as we're not splitting games. Just proposing some reasons why some are not averse to SFS.

Which ground do you think we should play from?

I disagree, I think it is stupid for a club that is called Wests (named for being Western Suburbs) to have their home ground in the Eastern Suburbs. People complain about not having an identity then propose options to muddy that identity more.

we are West of the CBD
Wests tigers

The SFS isn't Wests of the CBD?

no but wests tigers are and the COE is West of the cbd so we can be anywhere in Sydney in theory
we would be silly not to look at a really good stadium with public transport and no fan base in the Roosters

I would much prefer Liverpool over the SFS or ANZ

I don't want to share with Bulldogs we will be the poor cousin
ANZ would be the sensible option if not SFS

ANZ is a hole

So is Liverpool.

Get bashed in the car park at Liverpool

Probably. You'd want to dress down (Tigers jersey) and leave your wallet at home.

Never been there … never had to ?
Heard stories ..mainly on the 6pm news

Like tonight. A fight in the KFC carpark over a parking spot.

get robbed on the way in to the ground or come back from watch a 30 -0 flogging and see no tyres on your car

So what happens to Leichhardt Oval & Campbelltown Stadium ! I think we should play out of Campbelltown, the powers that be say that is the up and coming area for the next generation of young RL players, so that would be a good area to have a great Stadium...I know it's a bit far from the city, and from our new COE..but that's how it is😢
If we keep playing the way we have been for the last 10 years I think Leichhardt Oval will be quite large enough for our needs:confounded:

Probably from talking to people who actually play footy.
I know one person who was a Bulldogs Junior. Passionate Cronulla fan, Joined the Dogs because he was close to home.

There is more money in it now, but you're an 18 year old who isn't SBW/Kalyn Ponga/getting min contract or nothing...
you are looking close too home.

Likewise people in the Bush. Isaah Yeo drove 3 hours each day for training from Lithgow.
If I am based in Picton and I have a choice of driving to Camden or driving too Balmain. I know what I am choosing.

What happened to Redfern Oval, Birchgrove Oval, Belmore Sports Ground etc.? You simply stop playing first grade games there.

Unfortunately, both LO and CSS result in the club making a loss at home games. We can't afford that. Plus, the facilities are sub-par.

People keep talking about growth in Campbelltown, but how will having a stadium out there translate into more quality players than it does for the club now? What's the correlation? When we had the deal with Keebra Park, the location never stopped us from attracting quality junior talent did it?

Mate, I live 5 minutes from there. If ever you are in the area, call me up and I’ll come look after you.

You would not base your home ground on the extremities of your own area we are Wests Tigers and need a home in your own catchment LO would they get approval to increase the capacity I DOUBT IT.
STADIUM AUSTRALIA it there its ready to go.
NEW LIVERPOOL STADIUM ?????? I think would be the ideal place almost smack in the middle of our catchment
CSS depending on what the plans are with the new A league and redevelopment we may of missed the boat there.
So we need to make a decision and it's a BUSINESS DECISION not one based on sentiment what ever decision is made it will take us deep into WT'S future and at the moment we have people who can make a BUSINESS DECISION especially now we are in a positive financial position.

Looks good

would love the new SFS
Roosters don't have fans anyway and we don't have a opposition leagues club right next door and close to public transport

Except it is in the Eastern Suburbs

It’s on the outskirts of the CBD, a long way from the water.

It is in the Eastern Suburbs though, no denying it.

Irrelevant

Redfern used to be like that is that why Souffs don't play there anymore?

I think campbletown if you had to at least might work Liverpool is not a desirable destination to go see games like Belmore is not either

Campbeltown isn't desirable either.

you are right it isn't
which leaves ANZ or SFS

Maybe some of Pascoes mates can ask him about his thoughts in my sig from 2015 and what's his thoughts now?
Comes in telling everyone what they wanna hear.....

The issue has been raised with the club.

The one home ground issue or his quote?
Who's raising the issue?

His hands are tied, Tigers still bound to Events NSW until end of 2022. I've heard it directly from Pascoe's mouth that he believes a single home ground is a good idea, but he inherited a 10-year deal from when the club was cash-strapped.

Again - I think it would be a mistake to over-commit to a new home ground deal when the NSW Govt hasn't decided if they are going to hand out any more stadia funding. It may be that Campbelltown gets a big makeover, or they do end up with a Bankwest at Homebush, which would both be obvious outcomes for Tigers.

The Minchinbury or Liverpool ideas - not sure how committed we'd be to that.

Unify NSW cup to a WT team. No more Magpies or Balmain like in the past.

I think whilst ever the current board at Wests Ashfield are in charge, that isn't happening.

and bankwest is in Parramatta so what
Liverpool would be shared with Dogs anyway
we were at sfs once
go back there at least now it is a quality stadium and transport

We are called Wests Tigers and it would be stupid to play in the East. Liverpool is in our catchment area.

Would it be true to say you are anti-SFS as much due to your personal geography as the concept of it being "in the Eastern Suburbs"?

The SFS is truly almost in the CBD, and only a stone's throw from South Sydney. I personally don't see it as some Eastern Suburbs stronghold. I mean, Souths play at Homebush and there's nothing "South" about Olympic Park at all.
