New NRL TV Deal - What do you want from it?

I want big $$$$$

and a decent slice of games on free to air…

Not if free to air continues to abuse those rights & screw up their broadcast with intentional delays - too many ads during breaks & cross-promotion of their own commercial garbage!!!

I'd prefer live & uninterrupted on Foxtel mate!!!

I want a Dedicated Rugby League Channel, it staggers me that Foxtel did it previously with AFL and are now giving them a dedicated channel again when it rated so poorly last time.

Really if their basing it on pure number of viewers and subscriptions the NRL should receive $1.5 Billion, a dedicated channel and the delayed channel 9 Friday night game to be played live on their Digital channel.

But seeing as though Fox has their hands in every cupboard already, the NRL will get about $800 million, and the status quo will remain the same. Until we get rid of David Gallop the ex Super League lawyer, nothing will change.

It would be so good having a 24/7 league channel .. having classic games and everything … cant see it happening though... but NRL will most probably make a online channel with all live games and i hope league shows just like they do in the nba - if they do that im happy...

They've been showing a lot of classic matches lately, maybe theyre doing that to see how the ratings go and if they are good, then you never know.

With the AFL getting $1.2 billion, the NRL should aim for $1.5 billion. I know thats probably unrealistic but, the higher you aim, the higher you achieve, even if its not quite the target you set.
I remember my business teacher saying that in regards to exam marks, people who aim for distinctions tend to get credit's, people who aim for credit's tend to get just passes, and people who aim for passes tend to fail. So aim for as high as possible.

Aim for $1.5 billion NRL and accept $1 billion as a bare minimum, dont fall for any excuses by the networks who want to pay as little as possible.

FTA is saturated with gambling and on-the-run odds as well, being promoted by a problem gambler in Rabs Warren.

The deal must stipulate that all games on FTA **MUST** be live.

Delayed Coverage just works for me personally at this stage of my life.

I do understand the points being made and agree with the majority.

9 doesn't respect the product.

I want to see the clubs get more money, & monday night games moved to 7.30 so i can get to the game from work & the home team on monday night compensated $250,000 because a lot of people cant make the game so crowds are down that night.

I reiterate my point about channel nine abusing the product by delaying telecast of Dogs v Broncos by an hour, would have been a clear market to screen the game live for the league buffs and an alternative to those who didn't want to watch that bloody wedding.

Surprised they haven't infested the telecast with more ads!
