The new officiating is here to stay it was only a matter of time. People just don’t understand rugby league and the impacts of rule changes. You want people to tackle lower that will bring in spear tackles and concussion for defenders.
You speed up the game you get heavier collisions with defenders not set and off balance.

The smart play would be to recruit 6’5 forwards with an offload and quick play the ball. Good luck tackling Asofa Solomona low.

No, the smart play is to recruit Peter Dinklage as fullback. Should be regularly playing against 10 men.

My only argument with the NRL is the issues with players under fatigue argument ...when you are mentally and physically under fatigue you will make mistakes defensively

And the only way you fix that ...more interchanges and limit players to 70 minutes

IMO a utility as a 18th man is 100% necessary

If rounds continue like last round where people get sent off for medical wise and the 18th man comes into play

Tedesco style is run at the line, and before a tackle is made , do a burpee so that he can milk contact to head and get them binned

Having played both Union and League, I can say, hand on my heart, I maybe went high on someone once in 20 years. I hung the arm out and collared him around the neck as a reflex action.

I **think players can adapt, but they made the point that tackling around the legs ends up penalising the defending side because the play the ball is quicker. Also, a good legs tackle will leave the defender behind the play the ball effectively reducing your defensive line to 12, not to mention exposing you to an offload.**

I think we can all agree that if a player is sent off, then that’s probably going to be game set and match for the team with 12 (depending on the score. I don’t want to see games decided over soft send offs.

I think a sin bin for accidental and a send off for deliberate is the right balance. I.e Joeys coat hanger on Edwards would be a send off, but Papalii’s this weekend would be 10 in the bin. It’s a massive penalty to lose a player for the whole game considering you might make 300 tackles and only 1 goes wrong. Maybe a warning system is the right way to go? Like soccer with yellow cards? We could have yellows, sin bins and send offs for referees to step up punishment for seriousness and repeat offenders.

I mentioned this in another thread. This was my worry as well but most legs tackles are made in a 1 on 1 situation. The attacking teams must have done something right to get in a 1 on 1 situation.
