New Wests Tigers Jersey

I agree except that I think it should be mostly orange. Not because of any Balmain affiliation but because we are the only team that wears orange. The alternate jersey could be mostly black.
I totally get it, but black is the common colour between Wests and Balmain and therefore has to be the predominant feature.

sometimes compromise isn't the best way forward but when you've got such a strong neutral colour it does make sense.

If we were called the Balmain Magpies i could agree with your logic but we are not so our predominant colour should be based on the colour of the Tiger which is orange with either black or white as the 2nd colour depending on wether it is a Bengal or Siberian tiger.
Just my thoughts and you certainly don't have to agree with me

No to offend anyone... But I think orange is a horrible colour.
Does anyone here have any non WTs/Balmain clothing that's orange?
The only time you see orange is the hi vis industrial gear... People wear it because they have to not because they want to
You never see people wear orange for a reason... It's up there with turquoise.
Now people will say it makes us stand out... Which is a point... But I feel like others the main jersey should be mainly black which was common between the two old clubs... And the minor colours white and orange

totally fair mate. you’re definitely onto something, I just think that given it’s a joint venture that they’ll keep black as the predominant colour.

I’m a massive advocate for stripes on the jersey though, even if they’re subtle. that’s something we’ve never really explored these past few years.

G'Day again everyone,

I thought this fizzled out a while ago so surprised to see all the new responses. In case anyone hasn't scrolled back to the start this was my jersey idea that was the catalyst for this thread.

Wests Tigers Jersey Idea.jpg

I simply just combined the old Balmain and Wests jerseys trying to come up with something that was unique to Wests Tigers but also classic and timeless. As I said in the original post if anyone has any opinions or suggestions I'd love to hear them, and if anyone can make the one above in photoshop I'd love to see it!

This was my idea for a home jersey we can wear for all home games, and then I agree changing the away jersey would be better. Although if we're worried about selling jerseys I think putting the names and numbers of players on the back would be a good option. I watch a lot of NFL and people buy their favourite player's jersey not a generic team one, I know the players don't have their names on their jerseys here but kids follow players not teams. When I was little I just wanted to be Benji not a Tiger, can you imagine the amount of Galvin 6 and Luai 7 jerseys you'd see!

You don't want black in the early rounds. Too hot

I think we've had one like that very similar but a white version

little bit similar to what we were running in 2017-18. I think it's a good start!

We are the Tigers.

A Tigers colours are orange, black and some white.

What identity were you hoping for?

Also, I'm sorry, but EPL teams do not put lightning bolts and rubbish all over their main strip each year. As you said, the changes are super subtle, but reflect the traditional kit very clearly. Ours changes quite significantly each year.

Do St George change their kit each year? Roosters? Bulldogs? There is precedent for zero change to your main kit in NRL. You are talking like it's mandatory that changes are made. Muck around with the away kit each year...make it hot pink for all i care! I'm all for it, but keep a traditional kit that can be part of building our history and tradition as Wests Tigers.

I was just pointing out the reason EPL teams make subtle changes, and was surprised it was actually each year.

Anyway, who cares about precedence? And what relevance does it even have here?

In any case, all the of the clubs you mentioned have done exactly what the EPL teams do - maintain the jersey, but tweak it just enough that the previous one is recognised as not being the current one.

If clubs kept the exact same jersey year in year out there wouldn't be much of a market for retro jerseys would there?

We've just got a different view on this. 😊

Balmain had bugger all black; Common colour? It was predominately yellow.
Then it gradually turned orange.
The old idiom comes to mind "He who pays the piper calls the tune." ie Wests--------------- so its a black jersey with a dash of orange to keep up the Tiger spirit?

Could be on to something.
Orange home / main jersey.
With two alternatives a predominantly Black and a predominantly White one (which gives us a smarter option to tackle hot weather football).
Watching our team run around in black jerseys in 30 plus degree weather is just ridiculous.

Yes. I have these beauties

Though these are also the reason why I always will say no to anyone who says the Tigers should have orange shorts with orange jerseys, or really just orange shorts at all. It is too much orange, and it doesn't work well with shorts. The shorts do slightly works for these new Ducks unis, but they also have the waist band to try and break it up (so some degree it works), a league uni won't have that break.

Maybe that’s the answer, the Balmain Magpies !! Love it .
