New Wests Tigers Jersey

Look at Fulton and Tuiaki post jerseys and the sleeves have a orange then white ring around it, the same as the one in your picture so my guess is they’re alumni jerseys only

Good spot! I think you're right. The Whatuira post looks to be the first time they've shown the front of the jersey

Are we definitely getting another jersey design next season or just replacement sponsor?
Just googling it now theyve been pretty much the same since '21

A change would be good this jersey represents rubbish and timber cutlery
The intention of the design when it was brought in was for the design to be permanent. That may change now with the changes to the admin.

God I hope so.

I know there are a lot of people who are adamant the tigers need a "pick and stick" jersey that should never change. It should represent the two sides of the jv, and since the merger it has always been a combination of the two old clubs' jerseys.

Not trying to upset anyone - and bear in mind I was a Balmain supporter since about 1981 - but I truly believe that there are many benefits to a different approach.

Firstly - there is a very solid financial reason to change a team's Jersey as often as possible: it is exactly because every kid in the playground has to have the latest Jersey.
There are wtf members here who have every iteration of the jersey.

EPL teams have done this forever. The slightest change, completely different alternate or away jersey equals more revenue.

It's a proven method of increasing sales. I can't recall the manufacturer - so I'm paraphrasing here - but it started in the 50's I think when to sell more cars all a company did was offer last years model in different colours so people new it was the current one.

IPhones are a perfect case in point. It's effectively planned obsolescence by "FOMO" or peer pressure....

Secondly, black, white and orange are fantastic colours.

But this whole "identity" thing is overblown.
"Pride in the jersey" is so past it's time its cringe worthy.
The club, the team, the supporters are deeper and ffar more important than whatever jersey they're wearing that day.

My view is this: let's just get some awesome looking jerseys that incorporate the colours - or even modernise them with variations like charcoal and ochre if it works? - and change with the times.

Even all those years ago the reason I chose Balmain was I loved the tiger and their orange jersey.

I seriously think that simply a great looking jersey can win young fans. And if it looks good enough to wear anywhere, then people are going to see it and maybe want one?
I'm not trying to antagonise, I'm simply saying it's 2024. There is no Balmain in the nrl. There is no Western Suburbs in the nrl.

I don't care about division in the boardroom. All I care about is one club, so let's leave the past exactly there and get with the times.

I say the play in tiger onesies but that’s just me, I 100% agree with that they should be greedy and make fresh, unique jerseys every year to take our money due to FOMO, not really greed when it’s a win/win situation tho

Welcome Billy.

I actually prefer the 2003-2008 editions of our Jersey with the stupid curved stripes all of the place. I like it more that the 'V' designs we've had. Maybe not the coolest look, but its kind of like the Eels needing their 8 blue and yellow stripes on the jersey. The stripes belong to WT, not the old clubs.

Me too!

Personally I like predominantly white jerseys, but mainly I just believe they need modernising.

It really feels like the designers are insanely restricted by the ultimate decision makers who just can't abide anything that deviates from anyone having the slightest bit of trouble seeing which part is from the magpies and which is from Balmain.

* Think this is actually apocryphal, but appropriate!

I'm with you re. the V designs.
I reckon they are old hat and boring.
We need something new and fresh.

I am pretty sure we just extended with steeden. I hope I am wrong but I think its 3 more years unfortunately. We haven’t had a decent looking playing strip for years. I agree also on the “quality” of their gear it’s rubbish. Surely we have a jersey design change. This year is the 20th anniversary of the premiership win, so no doubt we will get a one off jersey to celebrate that.

Apparently we are getting a new jersey design for next season.
I was talking to the club about moving my seats on my membership for next year on Thursday and asked the bloke I was talking to if we would be getting a new design. To my surprise he said, we are 👀
I’ve asked a lot of questions in the past and always get the standard, oh you’ll have to wait and see, response.
I asked when they’d be released and if it will be before Christmas, then I received the, oh you’ll have to keep an eye out. You’ll be the first to know through your members first email 🤦🏻‍♂️
I thought we must be getting new gear the way they’re trying to flog off this seasons kit with their members only FLASH SALE email most Thursday afternoons since the season finished.
Can’t wait to see the design. Love seeing the new gear.

True. It isn't greed - it's business.

But in saying, I do agree that major, radical changes every single season really would only serve to dissipate brand recognition and no one would know which season it was from, which defeats the purpose.

I think the Warriors take it too far - god knows how many they've had, but teams like the broncos, storm and cowboys come to mind as doing it well imo.

To many jersey changes isnt good.

If it's a cool new sponsor, I will certainly be buying the black version
Can we also get the sleeve sponsor to change their logo?!

I always see little blue squares running around.

But back to the jerseys, the blue patches on the sleeve are jarring.
