NFL

Shocked about the Texans but they are expected to do better this season. Tuned into the Cowboys/Redskins game at the moment. Hoping our O line holds up all night long.

End of the Redskins/Cowboys game was slightly entertaining. Honestly thought the Cowboys would get up..

Im on the Chargers tomorrow, come on boys

Carn the Chargers and Ravens. I don't know why, I just like the colour purple on a sports jersey.

If the Dragons are epic chockers, what the hell do you classify the Cowboys?

Good question. Similar in the sense that there's an awful lot of expectation on them. They say everything thing's bigger in Texas and the Cowboys are true to that. That was so dissapointing to lose to the skins though who in my opinion were not the more talented of the two sides of the night. When you make 10 penalties for 90 odd yards well there is the skins offense for the game right there.

i thought they were gone. I checked in with the game a few times, bit of a roller coaster but yeah i thought vt had them at the backend. They obviously did well at the end. They might grow a leg after that.

bsu qb kellen moore was the difference between the two teams. When he us under pressure in the back end of the game at the start of the final drive all he did was throw first downs. His wide receivers ran out to stop the clock which was part of the game plan. He threw the touchdown pass to put them in the lead with 1 minute and 9 seconds to go. I thought vt had plenty of time to score especially with tyrod taylor being so dangerous all night. Instead of copying kellen, taylor decided to throw hail mary's which came to nothing and ultimately cost them the game. One thing that had me pumped was vt entrance onto the field. Imagine the wests tigers running out on the field like this…... Apologies for the quality but this was the best version i could find

can boise state actually push now for a bcs championship game???

two words ''bloody oath''.

you really needed vtech to stay credible.you now need vtech to win their conference.they lost 2 out of conference games so that didn't hurt them.but they are a laughing stock right now.
every year vtech is over ranked and they do this every year.
but your best hope is for the sec to beat itself up.
and that is a real chance, there are alot more teams in the sec this year that can challenge bama and florida this year.
plus, bama and florida play each other in the regular season this year.

boise really needs to schedule sec teams year after year if you want to gain serious cred.

the call to not run out the clock at the half was dumb.
the same with the longhorns in the bcs .

You're right there. Remarkebly similar scenarios. Except this one probably cost the Boys the game in hindsight.

the Cowboys have not been of the same championship quality since the retirements of Nate Newton, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin and Trok Aikman (even though Troy's career was entirely subsidised by the tough yardage of Emmitt as facilitated by Nate).

A bit like how the Packers went to hell without Reggie Jackson despite the talent of an ageing Favre! And the Giants without Lawrence Taylor before them!

I am a 'niners supporter and while we previously had a smooth transition at QB between Joe Montana & Steve Young (and then struggled with Elvis Grbac) - when we lost the likes of Ronnie Lott, Brent Jones, Ken Norton Jr, Deion Sanders, Ricky Watters, Dana Stubblefield, Bryant Young, Garrison Hearst and Terrell Owens at various times - we lost a hell of a lot of competitiveness!

Every one of those blokes are potential or existing hall-of-famers and had a special ability to lift their team by their presence alone (like Benji, Gareth & Rob for us)!

The best of them who moved on however was Jerry Rice - who at my current age remained highly competitive while playing with my 2nd team - the Oakland Raiders! A true champion - and I know Lote would love to emulate him!

At least the 'niners still have Frank Gore!

I never really thought that VTech losing to JMU would make us look bad, You're so on the money with that Bon. I totally agree with you too that BSU need a more demanding schedule where they play more ranked teams than what they have in the past. The problem there is that most ranked teams wont play in Boise and playing ranked teams in their backyard on a regular basis isn't the most desirable thing to do.

Geez The Buckeyes were impressive against Miami on Sunday. They'll be giving a championship game one almighty push this year.

Seeing as the Dolphins had a close game with the Bills I'd be pretty confident the Vikings should beat the Dolphins this weekend. If they don't I fear for their season. Losing to the Dolphins will have them at 0-2.

you won't get anyone willing to go to boise.
why would they?
take an sec program for instance, they already have a nightmare schedule, going to boise would be plain dumb.

lsu play bama and florida every year, with one always away.
plus an sec championship game if we make it and another 2 or 3 teams are ranked that we play on our schedule in the sec.
this year we started in atlanta against a ranked acc team(though with the suspensions, they weren't really a proper ranked team).
next year we kick off with oregon at cowboys stadium.why are lsu setting up these games at neutral sites.recruiting.

you have to look at what playing big games out of state does for recruitment.
you have to go out and showcase your program in other states you would like to recruit in.
texas is a huge recruitment area, and the longhorns do a good job in the area, but with so many quality athletes in texas, there are plenty of players who simply can't get a go in texas.
so lsu makes sure they have a presence there,we traditionally recruit out of the houston area and playing oregon in texas allows us to bring texas kids we are recruiting to the game to experience lsu football on an away game.
everyone already knows tiger stadium is one of the best experiences in college football, but we also have one of the best travelling fan bases in the nation.

the next thing is national exposure and boise simply doesn't get that with being in the wac.
if they schedule more big games they can get the exposure to more high school kids and their parents on network tv.

there are alot of good reasons to play out of state against the bigger schools.
a short sighted administration is what will hold boise back.

one last thing, get rid of that bloody smurf turf.
that alone pisses 35% of people off, maybe more.

don't forget the longhorns.
was huge in my opinion just from a playcalling situation in the 4th q with a freshman qb.
if brown goes to the locker room at the half, texas would have been leading and running the ball late in the game instead of passing an interception.
the pressure would have been on mcelroy not gilbert.

HA HA HA!!! That Smurf Turf is Boise!

Big day of NFL football here today. Two teams already in trouble, the Vikings going down to the Dolphins leaves them at 0-2 and the Cowboys going down to the Bears leaving them in the same 0-2 situation. Big win today by Greenbay, they were brutal and looking like the real deal at this early stage of the season. Even though the Redskins went down in overtime against the Texans I think the Redskins with McNabb directing their offense are going to be a very dangerous team. With Roethlesburger suspended for another 2 games I always said that if the Steelers can go 2-2 into the bye week and have Roethlesburger back the week after then I'll be happy. With the Steelers beating the Titans today that leaves us 2-0 with 2 more games left before Roethlesburger comes back, any more wins from now till then will be a bonus for us.

I was watching that game they were up 35-17 in the 4th with 5 minutes left then Shawn Hill threw two smart TD's for the Lions. Micheal Vick was awesome during the game and I think their rookie line rusher Best was awesome too.

Cowboys called a players only meeting today to discuss their start. It's a tough road ahead and they could ill afford to start the way they have. Only good news is they are only 1 game behind in the division which could be worse, they could be 2 behind.
