I don’t get where this obsession with Noffa comes from. I get people don’t like him, that’s their prerogative, but there has been zero indication that he’s being shopped around.

Obsession describes it perfectly. People are disturbed he's on good money despite signing when at the top of his game. I'd guess even Nofo would concede 2021 wasn't his best year but I think he was still top try scorer and featured regularly in the top metre, post contact metre and tackle break metrics.

Defensively you have to remember he was parked outside AD, JTJ, Joey and LL for most of the season - all of whom have been crucified for their poor defensive reads and missed tackles.

**When playing at his best Nofo is a SOO level player.** All we need is the coach to get him playing at his best and he'll be considered a bargain. Maybe we need Ted Lasso.

I'd be happy to see Cotric in the centres, but again it will require someone to get him back to his best.

He's ok on his (rare) day, but Nofo won't ever be a SOO level player.
No matter who is inside of him he would make bad judgements.
Even if someone got him playing at his best he wouldn't be a bargain - massively overpaid.
Unfortunately can't shop him around because nobody would be silly enough to pay him so much ... unless we kicked in.

I think it does matter who plays inside him. The best teams don’t need their wingers to make defensive decisions, because they rarely get caught with 2-3 man overlaps.

He’s never going to be Trevor Gillmeister but if you take the decisions out of his hands and he just holds his wing he should be able to do a job. I think a large part of his problem is that he doesn’t trust his inside defenders (which is probably fair enough), and he panics which compounds the problem.

Agree Bones. Nofa's lack of trust must be contagious because it has infected the rest of his "team mates."
Can I take you back to a time before Benji left (the last time he left.)?
Nofa was interviewed by bloke in the bar and when asked if he knew anyone apart from Benji who played golf? After some serious deliberation he could not name a single one, not one!
As a result Benji and Nofa played footy the same way they golfed. At times Benji looked past two or three backs to get the ball to Nofa, even if it meant kicking to the corner.
My point is, those two built teamwork out of trust, which grew from them knowing each other, Golf is a wonderful bonding game.

Its @Demps gossip news xoxo

Come on u lot on this forum , u all blaming nofa for all the defensive problems, well when I was coaching if any player whether a winger a forward had problems in defence, we would work on it at training and we only had tues and Thursday nights, so it says to me that problem lies with the coaching staff , they got 5-6 days a week for 8 hours a day to fix it and if they can’t then it’s there fault or the coach for continuing to pick that player .

“(The Tigers are a) big chance, because they’re the only club willing to pay his salary that he was getting at the Bulldogs,” Riccio said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“The Raiders won’t reach that $650,000 mark, but the Tigers are willing to go there with some additions payments being paid by the Bulldogs.

“It’ll be at centre, not on the wing, it’d be in the centres with the Wests Tigers.”

Tigers director of football Tim Sheens confirmed to Fox Sports that the club had met with Cotric, saying coach Michael Maguire likes what the flyer could add to the squad.

In response to those comments, club Chairman Lee Hagipantelis confirmed those talks and said discussions are ongoing with Cotric’s party.

“I saw the comments made publicly by our director of football Mr. Sheens,” Hagipantelis said on SEN 1170 Breakfast.

“He confirmed we have had discussions (with Nic) and the discussions continue

“So, there’s always a chance.”

Cotric began his career with the Raiders where he played 93 games between 2017 and 2020 before earning his move to Canterbury.

His season with the Bulldogs in 2021 was a down one with the winger scoring just three tries from 14 appearances.

Lee seeks the media, even for the smallest things.

He's got a standing gig on SEN Radio, I am not sure if everyone realises this? They always ask him Tigers stuff.

A chairman shouldn't put himself in the spotlight like this. The board needs to demand he steps down from Sen. An occasional guest appearance throughout the season, ok maybe, but weekly no. That's excessive and paints the club in a poor light more often than not.

Most people on here couldn't name the chariman of more than 1-2 clubs in the league. They just go about their business outside the limelight. Lee should be told to step into line or step down as chair.

It’s just some dude on the kennel saying we have him … I see no actual confirmation though

Supposedly with the dogs picking up 100k of his contract.

That's got to be a deal breaker for us. Paying Cotric 550k when the digs are desperate would be a spectacular fail from them. I think Canberra only want to pay 400k. If we offer more than that then hopefully that's enough to secure him. We don't need to offer 150k more, that just makes us look stupid.

Last season there was really no valid replacement for Nofo. So he played the same all season. A guaranteed wing spot for Nofo. That's why the team needs a new competitive winger to wake Nofo from his dreamland.

He's not on it as a WT representative. He's on it as a major sponsor of the show via Bryson's Lawyers. He's more than welcome to promote his business that way

You've clearly never listened to the weekly segment. He talks legal issues 99% of the time he's a lawyer if you didn't know.

Emoji sealed the deal 4 me.

Not sure 3 years for Api starting in 2023 is the best idea. He turns 31 in 2023, not that different to Hodgson, hopefully it's 3 years starting 2022.

Damn, wrong thread.

Agree. He will play ages 30 to 32 with us. Would rather a club option for the 3rd year on the deal.

Its a fair comment.
When Nofo is playing well he is a SOO level winger.
So is Cotric.

When Nofo is playing Poorly he is still scoring tries and going over the line. The problem is Nofo just lets the other team past and he does not defend.

When Cotric is playing poorly, he is not over the line. Sure he can defend a little but a Winger needs to be over the line. Bulldogs are last, if you dont score you dont win games and were not going to win on defense with our current team.

I am all for firing Nofo and getting a more defensive winger. But this needs to be a long term solution. Cotric had a great season at the raiders once. Even then he wasn't the biggest scorer.

Seriously, Nofo has never and will never play origin. Cotric has and might again. Although, he has a lot of work to do to get back there.

Not saying he will Play origin. I am saying when Nofo plays well, he can score tries and be a first class winger.

We all know his problems:
1. Defense
2. Consistency.

Yes I see Cotric scoring more then 3 tries a Year for us. But hey even if Cotric scores 5, or even 8... Nofo did 13 tries. Nofo gets over the line.

Why on earth would we swap a Winger who scores 13 tries with one that scores 3? Do we want our attack to match our defense?
