Noffa and McQueen to start in ISP

I'm scratching my head.
We just signed this guy on a 4 year big dollar deal…..

heart and soul guy and he is in resos???

He might have to toughen up a bit and and get out of his comfort zone and actually work to get back to first grade .
Hope he does the same to some others here if they don’t put in a consistent effort,.
I don’t care about a couple of losses if the word gets out that you have to earn your place every
Week

Its not like he's dropped Mansour or Holmes.
He shouldn't be a walk up start every week, If he thinks he is then this must be the kick up the backside he needs.

Nofo would be close to on-par with Mansour IMO, if not Holmes. Neither of those 2 are rocks in defence, same as Nofo. His carries are as strong and effective as either of those 2 as well.
Don't let Holmes' 4 tries vs Ethiopia in the World Cup overshadow his own defensive frailties.

Geez can't agree with you there. I'm not a massive fan of Mansour but he's in a completely different league to Nofo.

People really do overestimate Noffa on here.

As i've said multiple times before, wingers need to do more than work it out of our own end. He has a lot to work on. Worst defensive winger in the comp. 20 mins against the sharks showed nothing had changed.

Nofa played injured for the best part of 20 rounds last year to help the team.

Yep…..because we had NO ONE to replace him. He would have been replaced by Rankin. A busted Nofo will give you more than Rankin. This year we have depth in most positions and players like Thompson (Who I've never rated but credit where due he pleyed will in trials), MWZ, Milne, Fonua all ready to do a job and not only available but working hard to get it.

What culture is being built?

A culture that doesnt tolerate mediocrity? A culture where being tough or a nice guy isnt enough? A culture where hard work is rewarded? A culture where no one is a walk up start? A culture where we will all work hard to make the team?

Thats what I take out of it.

Ok… so Nofo gets dropped (he has obvious defensive issues) but what has MWZ done defensively that leaves him starting ahead of Nofo. Does no one remember the two tries Manly scored down his edge? Nofo, with his defensive issues in mind, is still a vital member of our team and will be a big loss.

The Tigers had one of the worst defensive records in league last year
And the year before
And the year before
And the year before
And what side were most points scored on

I am glad Ivan has the balls to make a decision most of us may not like
Ivan is being paid to coach our team and to make decisions he believes are in the best interest of the club and those that will eventually lead to improved results
This is not a popularity contest
If Nofo didn't kiss the tigers emblem after he scored that try in the middle of all the crap with the so called big 3, we probably wouldn't feel the way We do about him being dropped
Let's hope Nofo picks himself up and proves he deserves to be in the side because he is the better player
If not I hear that Mansour might be looking at a move soon

MWZ's strength will be under the high ball. Not convinced he is better than Nofa elsewhere. If the team has been working on defending as a unit, then I don't think constantly changing combinations is a good idea.
To work his way back into 1st grade should Nofa concede tries to the opposition centre on his inside to demonstrate how he holds his position?

I must disagree …. he is a distant third in my eyes.
Look every team we play targets his side and 9/10 times it works because of the fact that he just does not get it in defence. So it’s long time overdue as far as I am concerned.
Nice fella .... but no place in this business for players playing their on tune.

Hopefully Ivan can improve on his sub 50% win record this year.

On Noffa - where did the disciplinary action rumor come from? Does anybody know more on this? It would be good to know so then we can all stop speculating about the reason being his questionable defence.

So all u who think Noffo deserves to be dropped for bad defence….and applaud Ivan for doing so, yet Brooks still on the team. Brooks can't defend against an under 13 team, and his attack is even more God awful....what do u say about that?

I say that Ivan is the right coach for us and the club is moving in the right direction. I say I’m going to support whoever takes the field. I say I’m going to be a true positive supporter and not bag every decision that is made

So neither of you have your own opinion… apart from your blind faith in the coach?
Looks like a lot of boring input from you two.
