Nofo - match turning point

It was a nice save but I actually thought he mis-read this play. They were well covered on his inside yet he still have Winterstein too much room. Lucky to get away with this one in my opinion. Winterstein wasn’t great for them last night.

This is how I saw it too.

I really noticed how he turned his shoulder out in defence rather then in this week. He did it a little last year and improved defensively, but fell back into his old habit this year. When he turn out, he is a much better defender.

Could you explain this turning shoulder thing? I keep hearing it but don't relly understand what it means.

Basically as the attacking team are moving towards our defence, the defender (Nofo) will either turn in (towards the attack from mid field), hold his ground ( Face forward) or turn out (turn to sideline) to defend, these movements are subtle, but once made are hard to recover from.

Defending on the right wing, the ball comes towards him from his left. If he comes in to try and shut it down he turns to his left, if he slides out the he turns his shoulders right. Basically just describing the direction he heads. He defends better when he is patient and slides out.
