Remember going there for a few beers Xmas day probably late 80s... Wasn't many joints open Christmas day back then

I used to play table tennis in the bowels of the club back in the day.

I got the supporters bus to go up to Newcastle from there, I think in 88.

And there's my old house 30m away frpm Pratten Park.
How I wish I could have the days of kicking goals with my plastic football before the groundsman yelled out to get off the ground back again

The Old man would take me in from about 6yo and sit me in the corner near the pool tables. with 7 of sarsaparilla

I'd walk around that corner and go down Holden st. on my way home from Ashfield primary school every day from the age of 6. I still remember the smell of stale beer soaked carpet every time a patron opened the door.

Yeah.... Walking past Wests leagues going to school on a Monday morning with all the weekends empty kegs out the front was a bit ripe too

My wife and I used to go every Friday night for our date night when we were first married. Used to have a meal and then dance to the band that played there every Friday night. That was 51 years ago.

So funny watching them! Some serious actors there, and then, in XXXX quicksand ad, my mate from school pops up! Made me smile 😃. So thanks for the laughs, and memories. I wonder what Tim's doing these days. It's about 20 years since our last catch up 🤔
