I'd walk around that corner and go down Holden st. on my way home from Ashfield primary school every day from the age of 6. I still remember the smell of stale beer soaked carpet every time a patron opened the door. The Old man would take me in from about 6yo and sit me in the corner near the pool tables. with 7 of sarsaparilla

Yeah.... Walking past Wests leagues going to school on a Monday morning with all the weekends empty kegs out the front was a bit ripe tooI'd walk around that corner and go down Holden st. on my way home from Ashfield primary school every day from the age of 6. I still remember the smell of stale beer soaked carpet every time a patron opened the door.
My wife and I used to go every Friday night for our date night when we were first married. Used to have a meal and then dance to the band that played there every Friday night. That was 51 years ago.I used to play table tennis in the bowels of the club back in the day.
Great memories.
Thanks champion @innsaneink.

The C'mon Aussie C'mon (1976) Not Happy Jan Goggomobil and Paul Smarter milk ads seem the most memorable, as they're often mentioned.
So funny watching them! Some serious actors there, and then, in XXXX quicksand ad, my mate from school pops up! Made me smile 😃. So thanks for the laughs, and memories. I wonder what Tim's doing these days. It's about 20 years since our last catch up 🤔You've probably already shared these @tiger_one
