Bloody tragic, part of me and my youth died as well when I heard it. I was really big on the Beach Boys, and admired BW greatly. Amazing musician .
RIP and thanks for the memories.

Brian was the creative genius behind the Beach Boys. Without BW they never would have made it. He was one of those brilliant, but fragile artists. Performers such as Brian Wilson, Robin Williams, Robbie Williams, Joe Cocker and Marianne Faithful all fought their demons before hitting the stage. I saw the Beach Boys at an open air concert at Narrabeen in 1992. They were all on that day. Positively brilliant. RIP Brian.
