Nostalgia

The 1970’s was a golden era for wicket keepers.
There were so many great keepers at the one time.
Here is the list of wicket keepers from different countries in the 1970’s.

Australia - Rod Marsh
England - Alan Knott and Bob Taylor
West Indies - Deryck Murray and David Murray
India - Farokh Engineer (pictured) and Syed Kirmani
New Zealand - Ken Wadsworth and Warren Lees
Pakistan - Wasim Bari

If South Africa were not banned they would have had Denis Lindsay, Lee Irvine and Ray Jennings as their keepers.

Rod Marsh and Deryck Murray were seen as the brains behind Australia and West Indies dominance in the 1st half and 2nd of the 1970’s. The Chappell brothers, DK Lillee and Jeff Thomson relied on Rodney Marsh advice on field placing, batsman strength and weakness.
Deryck Murray was Clive Lloyd’s vice captain from 1974 to 1980 when West Indies started their dominance and Clive Lloyd relied on his advice.

And here's champion Rod Marsh (RIP)
