The Peel P50, built on the Isle of Man between 1962 and 1965, is officially recognized as the world’s smallest production car.

Designed as a city microcar, it was famously advertised as capable of carrying “one adult and a shopping bag.” The tiny vehicle featured just one door on the left side, a single headlight, and one windscreen wiper, reflecting its minimalist design.
Lacking a reverse gear, it instead had a handle at the rear so owners could maneuver it by hand.

Weighing only about 59 kg (130 lb), the P50 was remarkably light. Its claimed top speed was 64 km/h (40 mph), though in practice it usually reached closer to 61 km/h (38 mph).
