Not sure if we credited the kid after his last performance (as i couldnt find any threads) but i thought he was brilliant.
i admit, i was one of many to give him lots after the 1st three performances but he stepped up against the rosters.Support play and ball return of high calibre in a losing team.

Hoping he repeats it against the sharks this sat.

Hope he continues this form, If he does and bulks a bit there are several options for his future…

He was one of the real positives to come out of the game. Best game in the top grade so far.

Appears to be growing in confidence with each game. Some things take time, us fans can be too impatient with the players sometimes (myself included).

Yeah there was a thread about him after last weeks game and deservedly so, he was probably one of the best against the Roosters.

Ow this is a Moltzen-type thread.

Rowe played fairly well last week, somewhere in the vicinity of where a FG fullback should be. That makes him brilliant compared to previous efforts, but still a long long way to go.

Positives - solid under high ball, doesn't get pushed back too much in kick return, quick enough especially when he backs himself to run hard.

Negatives still - average positioning and not much urgency for kick returns, speed hump in defence, struggles to chime into the backline especially if involved in a passing move, lacks weight.

Jarryd Hayne is brilliant. Greg Inglis is brilliant. Let's not go overboard here.

I offer instead measured praise and thumbs up for best game of his career so far.

Was struggling with confidence to get properly involved until last week where his performance was stunning.

Defence - didn't you see his brilliant cover tackle against the odds .

At the least a more than capable future fill in on that effort , at a minimum

I just hooe he continues to develop his confidence with support play around the ruck when woods etc get their arms free he needs to be there not waiting for the next play

I also saw him arm grab to let a try in after half time and he let Tupou run over him to score the first try, just too small and not enough will to take him down. I watched the game with the old man and he couldnt believe what a piss poor attempt it was to stop their winger. The usual comment from the older generation is "cant run without legs" I had to agree with him. Rowe tried to tackle him around the arms about 8m out from the line instead of chopping his legs out. Would have stopped the try, who knows where the game would have gone from there.

He was involved heaps more last week but you can only polish a t@rd so much. Cant wait for Teddy to come back, Rowe is a massive liability in our team at the moment.

if many expect our second (or even third, counting moltzen) string fullback to be like manly's peta hiku- they'd be mistaken.

im a fan of rowe in the sense that he works hard and has pace. he's not at all bad for a back up fullback. his defense obviously needs work but if your fullback needs to defend, the chances are someone in the front line has alread effed up.

he will never be the reason we lose/win a game. not to mention he's only 19? tedesco was slipping and falling every 2 steps in his first few games.

One decent game and people are all over him. Not saying he doesn't deserve credit, but how have gotten amnesia over the last week is quite funny. I actually read a comment elsewhere, someone saying that they didn't care if Tedesco leaves cos in their opinion Rowe would be better.

Yeah, okay.

Come on mate. You've been here long enough to know the forum only has a memory of 1 game.

It's either sack the player/coach or sign him up for 5 years depending on what happened last weekend

While I admit I was calling for Simona to replace Rowe, I am very glad Potter stuck with him.

Tedesco will be taking his place as soon as he is fit, but we need to blood depth in this position for the future, which is what Potter is doing.

I have to say, all the choices Potter has made since coming in as coach have been solid.

Except benching Farah for Iosefa last year, what was he on

Big push from Payten for Rowe obviously watched some Tedesco highlights during the week and improved his game.

Tedesco and Rowe both born in 1993.
I hope he is not our back up plan if Tedesco leaves.

I thought he threatened to break through the line a couple times last week, he has been on the improve. Lets hope it falls together for him against the Sharks and he gets a couple over the line.

haha that's true, the one choice ive never agreed with. I can't think of another one though.

but he did have good intentions there too, was trying to pace farah so he didn't get injured and/or burn out especially with SOO.
