NRL hires Colin Kaepernick as a consultant?

There's one born every minute.

That's the exact comment I was going to use in another thread last night
It is ok to have your own opinions on all types of matters. That's what this forum is about and life for that matter, but some people appear to have nothing better to do then to complain. I think that is what's called a keyboard warrior.
My ex wife happens to be one of those

This is very sad. Identity politics is destroying our game

This type of comment just baffles me, Who is watching a game thinking, "This would be great if it wasn't for the identity politics". Nothing is being destroyed, Chicken Little.

I can understand why you are baffled, because you obviously missed all the action of SoO1. And the ensuing allegations etc etc etc. I wasn’t aware of what was going on at the time but I knew something wasn’t quite right. If I could see it then so could everyone else. Now everyone will be looking for any abnormalities in the game. The original ad which was canned would have been played numerous times putting even more pressure on players. It’s not fair on the players or fans. imo.

Isn’t it funny that what’s destroying the game is what’s important to the individual. In this case dentity politics. The other day on Facebook I saw a guy complaining that the ad ignored clubs like the Magpies and Newtown, and that the game will be dead by 2030 because of it. Most would view him as a crackpot, but he sincerely belived it becaus it was an issue that was important to him. Other people will argue that the obstruction rule is ruining the game. The reality is none of it is, because the NRL’s bottom line isn’t affected.

This is so embarrassing. The posts in here. I'm about done with this forum. I just come to talk Tigers, there is so much casual racism. I try to refrain from responding. So maybe I should just not come here, which is a shame, because I do enjoy many of the other posts and discussion.

It is frustrating and disappointing. Unfortunately society is full of people who are actually scared and lashing out as a way of trying to reclaim some control over their perceived losses. They don't realise they're often at the bottom of the heap because of the choices of people like them (same skin, same gender, same ideology), and are easily misled into feeling like powerful defenders of their race/faith etc...

My demographic is full of people like this, it affects all nationalities and religions because it is a fundamental weakness in human perception.

Instead of leaving the forum may I suggest you just avoid getting into too many conversations with them. The rabid ones often keep talking to themselves and are them easy to avoid or hit the foe button.

I watched it with a big crowd that loved it. Nobody gave a stuff about the other business. Frankly, any claims about the game being "destroyed" say more about you than the game.

And fair enough, maybe your enjoyment has been destroyed. The rest of us will still be here loving the footy.

When I’m constructing a post I use the lens: would I say this face to face with mates in a pub? If I can answer yes then I post it. Sometimes I think it’s too easy to post resentful or threatening or bigoted posts on an anonymous forum. It truly would be good to meet each other from time to time. If we did this I’m pretty confident the standard of posts would increase.

Well Tiger Steve,on occasions over the last couple of years I have organised a meet and greet for forum members to catch up and meet each other personally, usually at Campbelltown at the Wests leagues club when WTs are playing at the CSS..
The usual thing to do is meet for lunch have some beers and then go on to the game whereby I mostly tear strips off the opposition players and their supporters..I really get enjoyment out of that..
If I have the time in the next couple of weeks I think the 3rd round is at CSS against the Dogs...I can organise for the forum members to meet at the bistro in the club at midday and go from there..I have had a really hard 16 months and haven't had much time to get the forum members interested in a catchup but will see how we go...

Having been to one of TT's catch-ups, I highly recommend them.

Would also be nice if anyone wanted to have a beer at the Orange Grove before rd 2.

It doesn't take to much organising, time and place is sufficient...I usually book the bistro for about 20 forumers in a section of the bistro where we have a place to mingle and meet...I usually ask the members to confirm so as not to book for say 20 and 5/6 turn up..cheers TS I will keep you posted in the next day or so..

Mods I didn't want to hijack this thread it was not my intention re catch up,I will do a new thread re catchup soon as I can ...thanks guys..

Agree with you 100% @Tiger_Steve re constructing a post, whether it be about Colin Kaepernick or Wests Tigers or anything else that has the slightest chance of upsetting posters.
For instance, I was taken to task by a poster I will not name as I am not vindictive, but this poster was able to twist what I said and is completely mistaken by what I said. So all I can say again is you are correct and : the simplest thing cannot be made clear to the most intelligent person if that person is
firmly persuaded that he knows already, without a shadow of a doubt, what is laid before him.

Hey Ziggy you could invite Toddy along as well, as he seems to have no friends lately.

Honestly,I don't care who the NRL hires or in what capacity,as long as it is for the betterment of the game..If they hire Colin then sobeit,as long as it doesn't affect the WTs or rugby league as our game is supposed to be played, then I wish them all the best...I have said it before and I will say it again, the 2 things a wise man told once not to argue is
1...Politics
2...Religion

it wont end well....

I’ll admit I have been vindictive a couple of times and have regretted it straight away. Usually when I’m half cut! I liked Ink’s advice that he got from another poster: argue the issue not the person. I really hate it when someone is labelled brainless or a pretend supporter or whinged etc etc for simply having an alternate view

I agree with you Old Man Tiger. I will try stick to Tigers only threads, but I was curious about the headline of this topic. Can the OP please link the article about Colin as I can't seem to find it. Thank you!

Life's circumstances, which were already changing for the initial get together TT arranged, haven't had me in a position to attend a further one at this point, but the guys and girls there were very accommodating. I was also intending to pop over for a chat with a few forumers that posted their seating areas at Parramatta stadium last season, but again unfortunately was unable to.

Things have improved somewhat, so can hopefully get to catch up when possible if the location is kid friendly.

It wont be linked because i doubt it exists. It will just be the usual nut jobs spreading rumours to cause division

I'm guessing OP was referring to the massively successful Nike campaign last year which included Colin.. But that wouldn't make sense as he didn't make the add 🤷‍♂️ Or perhaps some joke that went over my head. Oh well! Moving on!

You can say it is me mate, I don't mind. It is ok, I would have said what I posted to you to your face. I even told you that I disagree with you but to keep posting as differing opinions are what makes this forum work!
