NRL INDEPENDENT CONSULTANT REVIEW ON WESTS TIGERS

Not discussing it with the guy we brought in to make our football decisions is the change of direction.

The point is that I have no confidence in the board and senior management of this club to set a direction and stick to it. A board that can't do that is a weak board.
It also shows that they are inherently untrustworthy.

There's no way that this type of thing doesn't affect morale and overall performance.

A lot of old Balmain fans have actually endorsed that our future is out in that region. Again, enough with the whole Wests vs Balmain crap it's completely unnecessary.
What Balmain v Wests? That's your interpretation.
Orange people would obviously be upset with a full move to Campbo.
It's the one good thing that could result from all the whining and moaning, a fresh start in the area that we should've been focusing on all along.

I would like to see a professional and transparent recruitment process which is conducted based of a criteria of needs and a skills matrix.

Can you suggest names that you know or know of, that you feel may or will fit those criteria and skills matrix?

If you petition blokes really wanted change, that'd be the petition to run with "Take the Tigers to Campbo".
The South West's kids are lost to us at the moment.
We capture their hearts and minds and we're an instant goliath

No mate, this isn't about who I want to see in there, hense the review. It is not about getting Wests Ashfield out of the club for me.

I can look from the outside in and say that certain things appear to be broken, but I'd prefer someone to actually find out and work towards a governance structure that has some accountability and transparency.

I'm happy for you to start that petition. I do agree the club has done a terrible job of engaging the MacArthur region.

All the talk of moving to Campbelltown is pointless. We just went all in with Concord and the Centre of Excellence for training.
Should have been built down there all along.

Stuck on Parramatta Rd between Leichhardt Oval and Homebush.
We have no soul.

I don't believe this although I'm not necessarily against it. If it meant I could watch a winning team more weeks than not I'd be all for it but my impression is that like 99.99999% of the suggestions on here it's magical thinking.

If you read @cochise statement about a professional recruitment process being utilized I'd be amazed if this wasn't the case. The problem is that a lot of tools/concepts etc are only as good as the decisions that are made and even more importantly how everything comes together in the end.

I'm not trying to be slack because I'm sick of losing but we've had all sorts of positive steps in the right direction for years but we still have a dud team.

The only easy solution and maybe the only longer term solution is to get a benefactor on board who is willing to utilize under the table payments and to do that consistently.

I'm not suggesting you are making this about you, but like most people with the knowledge you've attained about our club and board, you must surely have certain people in mind that you would like to see on our board.

We brought Sheens in to make the big decision for the club, no one knows more about football than him. We then didn't seek his input on staffing. That is a massive change of direction, and it is not so much the Fulton appointment, but the fact they couldn't even make it 12 months into a 5 year plan.

They have stated that we are returning to the traditional home grounds, is that the next direction we will back flip on?

Its not the specific instances that are my concern, it is what those instances mean.
I feel for him as he's really trying to balance/juggle the club's internal realities, the team's issues and external perceptions.
From every single comment he's given (in the media) Tim appears the only person always taking on a situational approach - acting in the best interest of Benji and the team, to improve our situation by 2025.
The whole upper management of the club need to follow suit.

Some self awareneness would probably be a good start.

@helmesy 🙂... I noticed you gave rozelle_rudy's post no. 100 a 👍

I'm interested to know if you agree totally or only part of it.
And if there is something you dont agree with, what is it?

In your 2nd paragraph you ask the question re the board back flipping on traditional home grounds.
You've obviously put some thought into this, so what in your opinion is the most likely outcome of the back flip, if it was to happen?

No idea, but I don't trust them to not backflip.

That would defeat the purpose of professional recruitment process.
