NRL rd 16 *Spoilers

I think that if you take a number of our players to "well established teams" they would look like the world beaters! This was shown even with our own structures - on occasions. The issue that follows us for years is consistency.

Ray Warren has served the game well. But Voss is a far better commentator and play by play analyst. Ray has become an old waffler who thinks his audience knows or cares who Ray Price is or was.

Trent Robinson is not keeping up with the current game.

Their top 17 has been flogged this year.

Friend, Cordner, Morris... retired.

Not to mention Verrils, Hutchinson, Radley...
Keary.. out for the season.

They're in the 8 so doing better than us but yeah, they cannot win the comp this year.

Sorry your wrong there, that just shows why the cap is a farce, because the team they are still able to put on the field would cost more than our total team.

What am I wrong about haha

How awful are these Roosters? And we dream to sign Tedesco, Manu, Tupou, Morris, JWH, Taukeiaho, Crichton, Liu, Butcher??? The team that lost by a similar margin as the WT??
We may look at our loss from a different perspective.

Dude ...you retire 3 and take out another 4 when we play Melbourne ...we lose by 90 +

When the Roosters are full strength they are still a premiership threat .....

I don't like Ray , but love hearing the old names and reminiscing ....whether I couldn't them or not ..reminds me of the old days ...better days

I don't mind Ray W. but his time has come - he's like the player going on a couple of seasons too long. Time for him to retire gracefully.

I have no idea what Channel Nine were thinking with SBW - its embarrassing and he's clearly not cut out for this, Um, Bro...

It wouldnt suprise me if it was part of a TPA involving the rorters.

Because they made them that way. Their Verrils, Hutchison, Radley, are our Seyfarth, Madden & Blore.

They didnt buy them, they developed them. The one they are really missing which never gets mentioned is Lindsay Collins. He is a beast and they are really missing him.

For mine the knee jerk reaction to the Roosters "brown paper bags" is just lazy. They do a great job. Identify talent early, get them, develop them and keep them. Not unlike Storm.

We should copy them not mock them.

Melbourne going to put a cricket score on the Roosters tonight

Who said Hynes wasn't worth the Money
Sharks have go a good player there

And Finucane still has it

You can understand nuff nuffs on here not recognizing how good Hynes is, but how does our recruitment team not make a play for him when he was still going cheap early in the season?

A few of us...

You and I, mainly... were begging for them to talk to Hynes.

The naysayers were all over here saying he's slow and whatnot.

He's a star.

I got howled down for suggesting Hynes. "Wouldn't be any good out of the Storm system, we have a FB for the next 10 years etc. etc."

You do realise he is not out of the Storm system yet dont you?

Phil Gould talks about this in his podcast.

Fans see players for what they're worth now, not what they were worth when signed.

He spoke about the Panthers doing a mock training exercises when Roosters won the comp and valued each of their players- the total value was over 50% over the cap from memory.

The salary cap balances itself at the end- your 800K players may play like 400K but your 150K development players play like 400K. For eg Kotoni Staggs at Broncos last year or in 2019- he would've been on minimal contract but provided service of a 450K a year player.

It still doesn't mean they aren't exploiting the TPAs though, but whatever they do, they manage it extremely well. Same as Storm.

Any examples? Teddy was already a world beater when he left.

Momorovski and Eisenhuth were going to show us how players flourish once they get out of the constriction of our "structures". Jessie Sue?

I think for me the most impressive thing about the Roosters is they have no connection to players ...once they have been identified as not what they want ...they are gone ....and it happens so quickly ...but when they see a player they need to clear the decks ......

Melbourne are the kings for me ...they get very few players wrong ...and when they do they ...make they player not needed look good

The storm are 100% clinical.
Wave after wave.
Relentless.
Combo of drilled structures and player freedom to play what's in front of them.

As a league fan they are just brilliant to watch and admire. They lose great players then replace them. Hard to see anyone except Penrith with a fit Cleary challenge them. I wish WT was half as good as the Storm. Hughes is turning into a brilliant half back and the Bromwich brothers have always been good. Love the Cheese and his post match interviews. The game needs characters. SBW brilliant sportsman but can't string two words together. Needs some professional media coaching asap.
