NRL Rd 5 *Spoilers

Just a few observations from that game last night:

* Penrith are a very good team, but gee that got some game changing calls that change the momentum of the game.

* When Canberra lost their full back it was virtually game over, but to their credit they never gave up.

* How does that grub Kikau get away with that crap? They actually have a number of grubs, albeit, very good players.

* Luai does have a very punchable face (as do a number of Penrith players) but the way his tongue was flopping around after he scored a try, I thought he was Odie the dog from Garfield.

* Penrith showed really bad sportsmanship, particularly at the end, after scoring a try and involving a player standing on the sideline in some unnecessary pushing and shoving. Total garbage on their part and should be referred to the Match Revue Committee.

* For the Momo haters that were overjoyed at him making a few mistakes, I hate to say it, but overall he had a pretty good game and showed a lot more class and skills than any of our centres have shown this season.

* Finally, it really goes without saying, but Sutton is a terrible ref.

Classless ferals

? come on Ink, admit it you’re just jealous

Can't cop bad sportsmanship... Doesnt matter how good you are the way they carry on irritates me

Missed the end of the game, what was the bad sportsmanship?

They kept carrying on like pork chops after they scored. Pushing players and giving them a mouthful after they scored.

Yeah didn’t really see a lot of that tbh. There was a bit of a dust up after Stains’ second try as Ink pointed out, but I think that was more about Tapine getting the poops than anything else. The game was pretty spiteful at times, so giving it to the opposition after scoring is nothing unusual, but like I said I didn’t see much of of that except after the Stains try.

Yes they celebrate enthusiastically as most teams do, as I would hope my team would do if we can ever play that well. Honestly, I think people are trying to see the things that Penrith do in a bad light simply because they hate Ivan. I’m not keen on Ivan either and I don’t really want to see him succeed after what he did to us, but sadly that horse has bolted. I have to separate the team from my dislike of the coach when watching them play.

yeh they're all a bit pompous and gloaty- they do have some right as they've worked hard but rubbing it in the faces of those who have worked just as hard but have been unlucky reeks of arrogance.

I was listening to Cleary's post match and he mentioned 4-5x how "THEY'VE" all worked hard for the last 10 years and how they didn't even get 5K crowd when he started there, where in reality he was sacked when they were almost bottom 4 and got them back when they were a top 4 squad.

However, the Penrith organisation deserves this reward. They had a plan, stuck to it and are reaping rewards without buying superstars or cheating the cap.

Luai is the absolute worst when it comes to his team scoring. Always comes in jumping on the pile like a douchebag

Where’s the Momo fan club tonight. He’s having a shocker.

Why? He has played well. Capewell missed the tackle which let the Canberra 11 throigh.

He’s done nothing. Getting smashed every time he touches it. Got taken out.

Just nearly set up the try for Cleary which the winger eventually scored. He saved two dangerous situations with bomb takes near his line. He has played well. The pass for Staines to score superb. Very good player.

Momo Haters gotta Hate!

Momo is a very classy player, has good ball skills and defends well. He has the odd mistake in him though and I thought he had a mixed game last night, though his classy touches outweigh his mistakes more often than not, imo as they often lead to tries.

He’s not a game breaker, but he’s the kind of player who will keep the momentum of a backline play going with some good footwork or a deft pass. He has slotted in well into the Penrith backline and is able to showcase his skills more readily within a good structure and with the calibre of players he now has around him.

I have said it before and i believe he referees games to get the result he feels is the right one regardless of the play.It may only be subconscious but it appears evident in every game he does. The Suttons Klein Cummins and to a lesser extent Perenara are dragging the game down.
PVL needs to remove these "officials" to get an evenly refereed game rather than a faster one. They stink

I would contest that they aren’t referees, rather they are game/momentum managers.

Yea i.ve noticed that too - can't wait till he either hurts himself or one his players with his antics. The stupid thing is that he is a very good player and doesn't need all that rubbish.

It would be great to see Luai do a Aaron Woods impersonation, and go right over the top of the pile.

No... Yiu don't get it
They have no sportsmanship at all.
I knew someone would bring up "they're enjoying their footy" which is all well and good and what all coaches would aspire too as it means they're playing well... But Sheens had us enjoying our footy too in 05... But we didn't carry on with the grub acts penrith do especially when their opponents make an error or they score.
I see it in individuals in other teams often but Penrith pretty much their whole side is at it.

**Tapine instigated nothing btw bar reacting when I think Crichton grabbed and shoved him**

Exactly. Was standing there minding his own business on the sideline until Crichton grabbed him and pulled him into the Panthers huddle.

No he can't seem to shut up. He even sounds like he's running out of breath.

Continually trying to predict the play "here go Souths, they are going to shift left, then right, Latrell looming left". Instead Souths take two hitups.

Ennis and Cronk are like two old gramophones, blurting out lo-fi constant-volume dribble. Ennis can't even speak properly: "Broncos in rool trouble 'ere".

Doesn’t cost much to be a wanker these days. I’m sure one of the Burgess brothers got 2 weeks for spraying water at the Roosters bench.

Knobs the pair of them. Really can't stand foxtel commentary and never liked 9.
Whenever I'm home, I mute the TV and listen to grandstand. Million times better.
