Walker and Reynolds should be the NSW Origin halves it's a no brainer but any bet they go Cleary and Keary.

Despite the great form of both Walker and Reynolds, I think it would be madness to completely change the halves combination that won NSW the series last year for game one. I'd stick with Cleary and bring in Keary - his form over two seasons is a bit to hard to ignore and he would take some of the heat off Cleary as he is a fantastic playmaker.

Yep he did, that's the only way I knew he was playing ? Totally different player now in the backs.

Just saw the Souths Play the ball penalty and am now worried - Thomas Mikaele often places the ball on the ground, he then releases it and then waits for the dummy half to collect it. He never rolls it back with his foot (thus playing the ball) That's a penalty every time - Over to you Coach!

We might be able to pickup some real bargains with Brisbane players coming off contract this year. Seeing their individual dollar value decreasing by the minute with these lacklustre performances. 🤤

He's not I suppose, but as I mentioned in my earlier post, I just don't think it would be wise to *completely* alter the winning halves combo from last year. I would drop Maloney for Keary because Keary has been playing consistently well for a long time and although Maloney played great last year, he is a huge liability in defence. At least Cleary can tackle and he is calm under pressure. With better players around him I'm sure he will go well.

Fyi, I've always been an advocate of Reynolds for Origin, but I just don't see the need for radical changes to a winning team for the first game at least. Queensland's success over a long period was mainly due to them sticking with the same winning team for the most part.
