NRL SIGNINGS AND RUMOURS THREAD 2010 - 2011 SEASONS

This is an excerpt from Rugby League Week written by Tony Adams earlier this year:
'Manly have failed in a bid to lure promising fullback/centre Rhys Pritchard from Western Suburbs in the NSW Cup to boost their backline strength for the Finals. Manly were keen to get Pritchard on board before the 30 June transfer deadline as an additional cover for former Test fullback Brett Stewart, who is out for the season with a knee injury.
"Rhys is under contract to us and we considered Manly's request but decided we would not be releasing him"., a Tigers source tells RLW. " he is a player of considerable promise who will get his chance with the Tigers in time".
They have since told Pritchard they will not be signing him for 2011.

Ben Jones - Cowboys, 2 years. Roosters wanted to keep him but salary cap pressure forced their hand.

Looks like Riddell's going to get plenty of game time with Watts being injured.

Shaun Berrigan - Warriors.

Orford has been released by Bradford to join the Raiders!

That should lower their premiership odds!

They need a good distributor of the ball. Their backline will be as dangerous as ever with Orford on board, as Campese would often cripple the sides attack by hogging the ball.

Plus he has a pretty decent pack to work behind!!

(With new buy Brett White being the weakest link in my opinion despite him playing for NSW & Australia!!)

Raiders are no longer gonna be the 1 player Team.

Orford (1 or 2 years) and Campo should do well behind that youngish Monster pack.

Depending how they go in the first few months > my 2011 Smokeys.

Isnt there still doubt aabout Campese for the season??? Havent heard lately, but i thought there were concerns he may miss the whole 2011 season. I dunno if a current orford could handle it on his own

Huge doubt about 2011 for Campo - so Orford will be left to partner with McCrone or the younger Picker kid as his halves partner for most - if not all of the season!

As for Glenn Hall - Manly would have been the only team that wanted him!

Bradford however have released two imports within 24 hours and must be on the look-out for replacements!
