NRL Trial Side Named *GAME THREAD

The only thing i remember of McDonnell was his pace..
But then again Koro would easily be quicker than him.

All negativity aside, i just hope we do well in 2015\. Getting Fed up of not being in the top 8 at the back end of the season

With the injuries and Lodge's standing down that was probably the side I expected to see

I'm guessing that Milone is still injured / rehabbing

Surprising that Lovett has been included over Sitaleki, but i suppose that demonstrates JT's belief that defence comes first. Lovett is more solid, whereas Sitaleki can be much more dynamic in attack, but also more erratic in defence.

It's a bit worrying that Hoeter is now our fullback by default, given he's never played there before! I guess that's why McD is in, the only experienced fit player who ever played fullback before. Hoeter is an out and out winger from what i've seen. Good in the air, and capable of diving over in the corner fairly well, but he was diabolical in the centres at the end of last season. Can't pass and can't defend in there.

I really, really hope we don't see Richards and Lawrence on the same side of the field. That could break our season. If our opponents make a break, they will score 9/10 times as neither can turn and chase at all. They have to be on opposite flanks so at there's someone with a hope of either finishing off a half break in attack, or chasing down a break in defence.

Sitaliekis defence has always been a concern, front on he is great but laterally he is terrible. Both Haynes tries last year were his fault as was the play that lead to the penalty goal which lost us v Brisbane. In saying that I've seen Lovett miss some shocking one on one tackles front on over the past couple of years. He may have improved but on defence alone santi is miles above both these guys IMO.

Agree re hoeter however he played all his juniors as a fullback. He looked good there in the opening training session too. I too think he could be a good first grade winger and also that in no way is he a center, however he really only played there out of necessity last year after both milone and Seve went down.

It's 40 degrees in Alice Springs all week. I hope the reward of playing there at this time of the year is worthy of the risk.

I m surprised no Akoula, that said I agree with the decision, i rate all forwards selected above him.

I know he is a fan favourite, but I have no wrap on him, makes way too mistakes and is a very poor defender IMO.

Id like to see Santi snare the 13 jersey, think he would be a great defensive addition and would really tie up the middle. I think he could easily do a Shaun Fensom role, which I would take any day of the week.

People need to remember all these young blokes are still developing, threre will be flaws in their games…and geez Jarryd Hayne against an 11 game rookie...hes made many many much more senior players look silly

Agree with this wholeheartedly with this in general.

However with this current crop of juniors I prefer others to Akoula. Just personal opinion.

I have a very high opinion of Sironen, Santi and Liomalve, and given the choice between Sue, Lovett, or Akoula, It is Akoula who misses out for me.

Interesting that Taylor says he will play sironen at 6 and Moses at 7 for part of the game.

Everytime I hear Taylor speak I am impressed. He seems so clear and presise about what he wants. Mentioned that he couldn't care less about the result, the trial is all about continuing to work on what they've been trying to put in place over summer.

I'm with you on this. He clearly has a plan and is working to it. My confidence in JT's methods continues to grow. I like what I am seeing/hearing.

It makes sense , Brooks won't be first receiver on every play and Moses has to learn to control the game as much as Brooks does

Angry Koala did make the trip….Looking at that side I think the Lock spot is wide open

I was on the Tigers site 10 minutes ago and i was going to copy and paste the side and then i thought ? NO that's Geo's department

Pretty much what i expected , plenty of rotation you would think playing in this Humidity and Heat.

the main thing is you think. be grateful.

So Sitaleki made the journey…Decent looking side although McDonnell starting at fullback...Just hope he doesn't slip and slide all over the place like he used to.
