NSW Halves

The halves weren't overly inspiring or creative, but maybe the conditions didn't allow it. I don't know, you'd think they'd be absolutely desperate, but it was kind of dull.

Maloney has to stay in my opinion , but does Reynolds get a run in Game 2 ??

You'd don't get a third chance in SOO

Yeh, Maloney was ok but Reynalds was a bit disappointing. His kicking game wasn't on tonight, hopefully just nerves so I'd give him another chance.
Dump Walker, maybe bring in Bird.

Maloney looked at least a little dangerous. My only memories of Reynolds were his silly penalty, the missed conversion and a couple of ineffective kicks.

Reynolds kicking game was just about the worst I've ever seen in an Origin game. Odd, considering his kicking game is just about the best in the comp.

I put Reynolds poor performance to nerves
He has been the Best goal kicker in 2016 yet he missed yesterday.

Im sure he will step up if comes back game too.
In no way do i support the souths but i do back NSW hence the good word for him.
Moylan only did 2 things, compete for the high balls which he was mostly good with and return the ball hard, anyone can do that.

He never looked to get a line break
Teddy step right in

Im a big Bird supporter when it comes to NSW
Cant stand him in club games but geez he is what SOO is all about . The toughness

I think your assessment of Dull is just about right
It was boring and at the end disappointing how we couldn't put that ageing team away

Incompetent Blues

Thats the reason i have 3 tigers jerseys and none NSW ones

As much as i want to say they will have a better game 2 i know they wont

There is always an absolute belting at Suncorp. The 40k people there can make more noise than the 80k at ANZ.
On top of that, if we couldnt win on home turf we have no hope in QLD beating them.

I didnt think they were that bad.

Reynolds kicked well, played around the ruck and had good hands.

Maloney had alot of touches and looked dangerous. If he put 1-2 players through holes he would be hailed as a champion.

They did most things right, just couldnt put the game away.

I thought Reynolds kicking was awful.

I felt it was clear they were instructed to kick like that… They were simply building, working for errors, an instruction from Daley.

Yep maybe so. They certainly lacked some spark in the backline imo.

The kicking game was woeful from Reynolds. Not sure if Maloney kicked at all? Nearly every kick went straight to QLD on the full. Put no pressure on them at all. Considering Reynolds was exclusively there for his kicking ing general play and goalkicking, he was woeful. Nerves, maybe. But it's not going to get easier playing at Suncorp!

NSW just don't have any halves that are pushing for selection whereas QLD have 7-8\.

Maloney went alright but we are simply not in the league of Cronk+Thurston, although their kicking game was a bit off too.

We lacked direction and organisation in attack which would have won NSW the game easily.

Reynolds missed an easy goal and kicked straight down Boyd's throat all night.Even close to the line he couldnt get it right.

IMO he was an epic fail!</aybe>

When it come to the crunch the halves went missing at critical points like always. The attacking raids in that second half our 6/7 should have had more touches. It was like there was no composure with one out hit ups happening quite often. The decision on the scrum change was weird, I believe that was there last chance to put on points and was taken away from them.

yeh kicking game was poor but half the time we were kicking from our own 30 if not 40, very hard to have a good kicking game when you're always on the backfoot. surprised to say farah had the best kicking game out of all qld/nsw players.

willing to give them both time though. it's amazing how small some players look in origin. maloney and reynolds seemed like little ants whenever they took the line on.
