NSW Halves

If you dont put pressure on the opposition halves for 80 minutes you lose. NSW let Thurston run to the line thanks to Cordner which resulted in their try. Maloney runs to the line and we score. Halves were fine without being brilliant but it is a big ask to shutdown JT for 80 minutes.

I thought Reynolds wasn't bad, not brilliant either. It was a dour, defensive contest and the halves never had enough space to really get into a groove (both NSW and QLD).
NSW lacked spark and the decision to leave Walker (the X-factor, whether you like him or not) on the bench for so long was very odd.
Defensively we were fine. Forwards did their job. We just need a lot more in attack. Tedesco and Dugan will remedy that.
If we could only engineer Radradra and Hayne I think we would take them easily.

If QLD had as much ball as we had close to the line they would have won by the length of the straight. We badly need a player like Cartwright who can actually get something happening. The blues halves are no better or worse than in recent years. Who be great to have some speed in the spine, but I am not sure where you would get it from

I can see why NSWs took that game plan into game1\. However when our forwards were on top,the halves needed put the ball through the hands (like Qld) did.

Ummmm QLD had wave after wave of attack in the second half and didn't score.

Cartwright would be great. Speed could come from Teddy.
