I’ve been thinking and based off tonight’s game Pearce is a no with Cleary out.....i usually disagree with keeping graham at six as the would put way to much pressure on Maloney as graham gets tired.....but the solution is...graham 6 matterson 14...like for like so Maloney always has a fresh big body 5/8 which also means wighton can stay in the centres...yeah Mitchell sucks tbh

What if Maloney gets injured during the game, there is no one to run the show, they need another half

And Qld will be prepared for Graham at 5/8 this time around, although he went well lat time he's not a 5/8.

The Blues are expected to go with Wade Graham at five-eighth and James Maloney at halfback if Cleary is ruled out, but there is a chance Mitchell Pearce could be chosen.

That would leave Ryan Matterson to come on to the bench as the utility player.

Matterson has been a shadow player in the squad all series and has impressed the Blues’ coaching staff with his input and ability, as a utility, to play several positions. (Rothfield)

What’re the odds of that? Week we play Rorters he’ll probably be missing for us !

He doesn't need to be when he's got Trbojevic, Tedesco and even Wighton around him. If he can defend solidly, present as a threat at the line himself and supply plenty of early ball then that should do the trick. I think in hindsight the problem with the Cody Walker selection was that he needs the ball in hand to really shine which is fine for the Bunnies but there are far bigger threats than him in the NSW lineup...

I'd just be worried defensively, a backrower next to a fullback in the front line could be risky. They'll be coming at him all night.

could be without mbye and matto...

Brad Fittler is strong in his belief that @tariq_sims was hard done by to receive his charge. Naming an unchanged team to the one that won in Perth will send a good message. If Sims gets banned David Klemmer is a very handy replacement. And they are confident Cleary will be ok. (Danny Weidler)

What the hell does Matterson have to do to get a gig in Fiddlers team....Not happy.😡

@innsaneink
I’m with you, hard to beat them at the best of times yet alone without our best player so far this year.

I don’t understand Fittlers logic in not picking Klemmer over Saifiti - tweaking is a good thing when it’s an upgrade on what you already have....QLDs going to come out all guns blazing in the 3rd, hope Saifiti’s ready for that...

Hopefully Matterson ends up showing Fitler its the not the club you play for its man who takes the field.

He has been treated like rubbish by Fitler.

I don't think so. He's been included, and Fittler has a job to do. Making tough decisions is a coaches job. They don't make these decisions lightly. Matterson will get his chance. A blend of loyalty to those that got the job done, willingness to take some calculated chances and defiance to the outside noise is exactly what's required by the Blues Coach. He might be Freddy, but he's not "Blind Freddy." He has a plan and some balls. If things don't work out, he"ll wear it.

But when there’s doubt a player, in this case tariq sims and the judiciary, you would be stupid not to include matterson as 18th man at least.

Heard on the radio today that Fittler, Buderus and Ivan Cleary are very tight. Looks like little Nathan is getting a rails run.

Really starting to dislike the Cleary Bunch
