We need him more

True but got to feel sorry for him. Deserved a crack I reckon

He will play quite a few origins in future.

But when there’s doubt a player, in this case tariq sims and the judiciary, you would be stupid not to include matterson as 18th man at least.

whats the harm in waiting for the judiciary?

Freddy's lost it Trbojevic and Wighton in the centres ,,Siaifiti who's he..no props on the bench..what the hell is he thinking...Only NSW by 30 this time..

Hopefully Matterson ends up showing Fitler its the not the club you play for its man who takes the field.

He has been treated like rubbish by Fitler.

I don't think so. He's been included, and Fittler has a job to do. Making tough decisions is a coaches job. They don't make these decisions lightly. Matterson will get his chance. A blend of loyalty to those that got the job done, willingness to take some calculated chances and defiance to the outside noise is exactly what's required by the Blues Coach. He might be Freddy, but he's not "Blind Freddy." He has a plan and some balls. If things don't work out, he"ll wear it.

Ok if you say so.

I dont fall for blind loyalty to a state.

Heard on the radio today that Fittler, Buderus and Ivan Cleary are very tight. Looks like little Nathan is getting a rails run.

Really starting to dislike the Cleary Bunch

Ive heard the same. its about mates and favoured clubs.

Good luck to NSW if they win but its not how you go about things.

Fittler dumped two blokes from his old team after game 1 so I'm not sure about that. Cleary was the obvious choice last year and he's stayed loyal as there isnt an obvious option. I dont see Pearce as option either.

Clint Gutherson as 18th man? Really? Have I missed something about this guy?

He is rugby league's Ricky Gervais IMO. Some talent but not as much as he thinks he has.

And everyone else can see he's a try-hard who we'd like to get snotted.

And, no Matto?? Hmmmm ......what odds QLD?

I'm guessing if Cleary is not fit, Jack Wighton can move to 5/8 and Gutherson will play at centre. I can't see any other reason for him to be 18th man.

Wighton made a lot of errors last week against the Eels which is a bit scary.

No, Buderus said on NRL360 Klemmer was left out due to the balance of the team, but then he say's if Simms is ruled out Klemmer will come in, makes no sense at all in regards to Bedsy's team balance. They are of the belief that Cleary will be right, and if not Graham starts at 6, some plan, but after game 2 who knows how it will end.

Its all about Nathan Cleary.

The guy who has done nothing.

Kicks a good goal. Thats it. Looks composed so gets a spot when others deserve it more

Wouldn't matter who NSW pick

Qld win series 2-1

Yeah I think game 2 was a QLD trap, just so NSW would keep the same ordinary team for the game 3 decider. I still don’t get why Klemmer is not there. He played with a broken wrist in game one and was still the best NSW forward.

Be fair - he’s got a great chin

@Tiger_Steve there’s no one you’d rather have with you if you needed to break open a coconut.

You seem to have jumped the gun there @WT2K. Sims will only miss one game, but it's a big one.

Yep, and here are some more facts to backup this suggestion....Fittler and Iv both own houses on Northern Beaches (same sub), they carpooled for years into the city....also Alexander is a Penrith board member who has obvious bias to Nath...anyone who thinks SOO selections are above board is kidding themselves....

And some folks reckon Brooks is the luckiest footy player going around...
