4th worst attack up against, what was, the best defence
Kinda scratching my head
Now it's over I can see we just weren't on our game but I really did think we were gonna get it and even go on with it… Oh well.
A couple of their big forwards really got on top
Some good things by Miller, Sue, Marika, noafamula ... I think maybe just our forwards got smashed a bit, we have mostly good workers and some impact from Sonny but maybe need another big unit through the middle at times

WESTS TIGERS LOSE 38-36 IN NYC

Wests Tigers suffered a 38-36 loss to the North Queensland Cowboys at Campbelltown Sports Stadium today in round 12 of the NYC competition.
In a match that saw the lead change several times, the Cowboys snatch victory in the dying minutes to upset the competition leaders. Wests Tigers went into the game without five-eighth Curtis Sironen after he was promoted to make his NRL debut.
Wests Tigers opened the scoring in the 4th minute when half-back and captain Jacob Miller dived over next to the posts off a pass from hooker Ben Saunders. Full-back Manaia Rudolph converted for a 6-0 lead.
The Cowboys opened their account in the 10th minute through a try to winger Zac Santo. The try was converted by half-back Sam Foster.
The visitors went to a 10-6 lead in the 18th minute when Nathan Norford burrowed his way over from dummy half. Foster failed to convert the try.
Santo grabbed his second try in the 24th minute when he showed some elusive footwork to beat Rudolph for a 14-6 lead. Foster converted the try for a 16-6 lead.
Wests Tigers got back to 16-10 in the 32nd minute when Saunders crashed over from dummy half on the back of a strong run by second-rower Joel Luani the previous play. Rudolph converted the try to leave Wests Tigers trailing 16-12.
Wests Tigers drew level in the 37th minute when Sitaleki Akaoula ran strongly to score under the posts. Rudolph converted to give Wests Tigers an 18-16 lead at half-time.
2nd Half
Wests Tigers got off to a perfect start to the second half when centre Brad Soe scored in the 42nd minute after a bomb by Miller. Rudolph failed to convert the try for a 22-16 scoreline.
A short grubber kick by Miller saw second-rower Joel Luani dive on the ball in the 48th minute for a 26-16 lead.
Four minutes later, Cowboys lock Patrick Kaufusi scored under the posts. Foster converted to leave Nth Queensland trailing 26-22.
Some quick hands and a good offload by Soe saw winger Marika Koroibete score out wide in the 58th minute. Rudolph failed to convert leaving Wests Tigers with a 30-22 lead.
Wests Tigers extended the lead when Miller scored off his own bomb after the Cowboys full-back Wayne Ulugia dropped the ball. Rudolph converted to give Wests Tigers a 36-22 lead.
The Cowboys hit back in the 69th minute through a try to Santo. Foster failed to convert the try to leave his side trailing 36-26 after 71 minutes.
Nth Queensland centre Javid Bowen plucked the ball out of the air off a crossfield kick in the 73rd minute to score for a 36-30 scoreline. Foster converted the try to leave the Cowboys trailing 36-32.
The Cowboys drew level when second-rower Chris Grevsmuhl scored out wide in the 77th minute. Foster converted the try for the 38-36 scoreline.

Is it just me or are Counsins' match reviews really dull and uninformative?! There usually much more to a match than simply describing how each try was scored in one sentence each and nothing else?
If our best player didn't score a try, no one reading the review would have any clue that they even played, not to mention were best on ground! While it's good to have some coverage of the NYC, it's not at all difficult for anyone who watches the match to add some more meaningful content to the review. Who ran hard all game? Who tackled like a man possessed? Kicking game. Offloads. Last tackle options. Creativity…..?

To be honest, I get that with a lot of the stuff he writes. He does a whole lot of work to keep the site up to date, but too much of it is fluffy, uninteresting stuff, the game-day in particular. Anyone checked out the Broncos or Sea Eagles sites? Now they do a great job of stories and match day! (Not that anyone would want to support them and read it anyway)

With all due respect to Cuzzo, he's doing these reports on the fly and has to jump into the first grade reporting once the NYC is done. It's a time consuming process when he's dealing with the media on game day.

Got there early to watch this game after hearing so much about a few players in this team who might be stepping up to 1st grade.
Marika Koroibete and David Nofoaluma ran the ball back very strongly.
Jordan Marshall-King made a few errors but his attack is strong same with Jacob Miller.
Front Rower Nathan Brown was difficult to stop.
Really impressed with reseves Inno Inosesio and Sita Akauola who had some powerful runs.
Can't see many getting the call up. Only Marika ahead of David for NRL at this stage.
