Great result after some of the sides efforts in recent weeks, how many attempts at the drop goal were there before Miller slotted the one pointer?.

Tigers got them! Very important win and keeps the Tigers inside the top 8\. Payten must be concerned with the simple errors that can bring this side undone though. Being one of the smaller sides doesn't help the Tigers when their defence is put under pressure.
If he can get the team to switch on for the full 80 like they did against Penrith in round 1, the Warriors and Raiders, then there's no doubt they can win the comp.

Mentality seems to be a big issue for the young guys. Important win in the end but Toddy has to be concerned
Great win considering the opposition. Hopefully they can go on a run over the next few weeks. No fire up first grade!

Fotuaika is highly regarded and tipped for FG. Asiseli Fine who joined the Tigers from the Roosters earlier this season has performed well. Brendan Santi and Kyle Lovett in the forwards are also worth keeping an eye on and are highly regarded.

NYC: Wests Tigers beat Penrith 23-22 in a thriller
A long range field goal by Jacob Miller in the dying minutes gave Wests Tigers a thrilling 23-22 win over Penrith Panthers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium tonight in round 19 of the NYC competition.
It was the second time this season Wests Tigers had beaten Penrith who went into the game as competition leaders.
The win moves Wests Tigers to 26 points and into fourth place on the ladder.
Wests Tigers got off to a solid start in the third minute when half-back and captain Jacob Miller took the line on in a 3 on 1 overlap to score 10 metres out from the posts. Full-back Manaia Rudolph converted the try for a 6-0 lead after 5 minutes.
Six minutes later, it became 10-0 to the Wests Tigers when five-eighth Connor Toia put a kick over the top of the defence for winger David Nofoaluma to swoop up the loose ball to score in the corner. Rudolph converted for a 12-0 lead.
Seven minutes later, Nofoaluma scored his second try when the ball was spread right through Toia and centre Asipeli Fine for a 16-0 lead. Rudolph failed to convert the try from out wide.
Wests Tigers made it 20-0 when prop Mosese Fotuaika crashed over under the posts. Rudolph converted the try for a 22-0 lead after 25 minutes.
Penrith opened their account in the 32nd minute when winger Nicholas Mataia scored in the right corner. Half-back Harry Siejka converted from the sideline for a 22-6 scoreline.
The Panthers were in again three minutes later when Chris Knight made a break downfield to send full-back Kieran Moss to score under the posts. Siejka converted the try from in front of the posts for a 22-12 scoreline. The score remained that way until half-time.
2nd Half
Penrith reduced the margin to 22-16 when Moss scored his second try behind the posts. Siejka converted the try for a 22-18 scoreline after 45 minutes.
The Panthers drew level when Moss scored again with three defenders on him from dummy half in the 55th minute for a 22-all scoreline. The try was not converted.
Miller gave Wests Tigers a 23-22 lead in the 38th minute when he landed a 40 metre field goal on the last tackle.

@bp tiger said:todd will pay dearly for not picking some large forwards i think , it will come back and bite him in the arse.with what we have how good would they be with a bit more size.
I saw the extended squad during the offseason and there just wasn't that much size unfortunately. I asked Payten whether he was happy with the side and he said all he wanted was a bit more size in the front row, everything else he was happy with, so it's not like he has not been aware of the issue.
