NYC Live game Thread.

What a dud form of football.

And this is the pathway to the NRL… pathetic

Gives a false impression of the step up to FG. That is why bringing under 20's players into the top game is one big gamble. I think Lui looks great, but how would he go in the big one? The path has to lead through the reggies, or it could become the Under 23's, 2nd grade and first grade like the good old days.

imo under 23s would be a start …..backs can adapt ... but forwards need more time to make the top grade ....

That level should deffinately not be below FG. Just because a couple of young outside backs make it all the way to the top they brought this in.

There's some talent there, but once teams get consecutive sets on the opposition line they usually score. The Tigers were caught out defending kicks a couple of times too. Lui was again dangerous and has some very impressive ball skills. Picked up one spilt ball one handed while on the fly and makes everything out there look easy, except defending - He has some work to do here. The Fifita brothers were again strong, Woods went well and Dywer was more than a handful in the second half. For the players that the Tigers have earmarked for FG, they should be promoted to State Cup immediately for next season. They need to work on their defence more than anything.

After watching Balmain and West premier league teams play I was wondering why players like Dean Webster and Mick Stolk didn't get a run in the 20's team as they are the right age. But now I've realised its probably because they can tackle!!!

We all know what has to be done, except the idiots that run our game.

Bring back the 3 grades of footy on the same day ,at the same venue, starting off with the Under 20s being played first, then reserve grade and the firsts, with only 10-15 minutes gaps between all the grades. Bring back more Saturday and Sunday afternoon games, and ditch Monday night football, so families can make it to games to watch their teams

But I guess , that just too damn hard,,

I'm scratching my head as to why this can't be done. It was always a great day out watching all three grades, good value for money. Watching the younger ones coming through the grades and having a great day out with your family on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. late night footy is no good for the young families out there.

I was talking about NYC with some people in Shellharbour yesterday.

It was good when someone performed well in the Flegg days they were often rewarded with an early spell and than a bench spot in the Reggies. The whole progression is wrong.

I am not trying to detract from the NYC boys doing well this year. But looking to the future of the NRL squad is what we should be doing and this is not the way to build
