Yeah, we need players like JAC, Tedesco, Pappenhauzen...............

Hang on................

Rather than insinuating players that we let go.

Maybe you could name someone with speed - that actually wanted to stay.

Well, JAC wanted to stay....Balmain fan.

Pap also...Balmain family.

Not criticising...just would be nice if we got these right for a change when deciding who to keep.

I doubt JAC was a Balmain fan. He was 5 years old when they played their last game.

Sorry, meant a Tigers fan....but his family supported Balmain.

Jason Taylor picking Jordan Rankin over JAC is possibly the worst judging of talent in history. There should be an "immortal idiot" award with Taylor as its first "immortal".

**"I've gone for the Tigers nearly my whole life," Addo-Carr said. "It was a great opportunity for me to come here and it was only a one-year deal, but I took it with both hands and have trained hard pre-season and it means the world to me.

"I never thought I would play for the team I've supported my whole life. We've got the team to make the top eight and we've just got to put it together.**

@Earl The Bulldogs thought that he was going to be the next JT and they were not going to let another JT slip through their fingers.

I'm actually not that worried about Esan leaving. I believe we have to clear the decks in order to rebuild our team the right way. Esan didn't play like someone looking for an upgrade this year, he was lazy and disinterested and not someone I believe has the qualities to make us premiership contenders. He will probably kill it with the cowboys, but not with us so see ya and good luck. C'mon Madge let's do this right and let the build take it's course without impulsive/Cleary like signings.

Well, not really. He was told by Jason Taylor he was a fringe player and offered 140 000 to stay.

What about the Sharks, who didn’t even debut him? Why do they always get a free pass with JAC. And his manager was told by Pascoe not to make any deals till he got back from a family holiday.

Jokes aside, you would presume we have signings coming soon.

Well, you would presume so anyway....surely?

@Russell I think Madge wants Lomax as fullback in the future, i don’t know why just have that feeling.

I think Madge is making a play for AJ Brimson , I don't know whether it is for Fullback or 5/8.

I would hope 5/8th

To be honest I think it’s a good move by the club. He didn’t deserve an upgrade. He’s too slow and lazy for centre and too lazy and small for back row. Off to Cowboys where I predict he’ll never be heard from again after 1 season.

Yes it’s extremely rare that players leave the Tigers system to find success elsewhere.

My sarcasm detector just went off the Richter scale after this comment

This is excellent for us and it just feels like Coach is turning the team over and keeping the ones he believes are the right fit.. He did a incredible job this year with what he took over from and if he can get the right players i can only see this heading in the right direction.. He is not the NZ coach for no reason and that helps attract the right people as well.. :+1:

You make it sound like the club thought Rankin was the better long term option. To which you’d be wrong.

@hsvjones Agree 100%. Madge inherited this rubbish and knew it when he signed up. Let Madge create a team that respects him as a coach, wants to train hard (reflecting in results) and also respects the club they play for. I'm looking forward to 2021 and beyond.

This is really really tough and could go either way.

My initial thoughts are that he would get back to his best - but tbh even his best wasn't anything near the top centres in the game.

I can see Talau progressing to be just as good if not better than what Esan has delivered so far, and for less.

One thing is for sure, I hope this has nothing to do with fitting in the signings and re-signings we have made so far and that something bigger is to come.

2020 premiership....

I'm arguably this clubs harshest critic. I was laughing at how inept we were at times this year. But letting Ersan go is definitely positive. Letting Lawrence go in my opinion is positive too. I honestly feel moving corey thompson on is positive too. If the cllub is serious about consistent winning then we need arguably the best @ the 1,6,7,9 positions. Even if you're building post 2020 then we need to allow the kids to come through next year instead of sticking with players like thompson etc

Agree with your first sentence - disagree with just about all the rest. Everyone's entitled to their opinion though.
