Official - Josh Reynolds Signs Megathread

Something weird going on here

I see Reynolds has had the hill at Belmore named after him despite leaving at seasons end.

**Maybe the toilets at LO can be renamed in honour of woods**

Does a bear ? in the Woods?

The only thing that concerns me with reynolds is his passing skills, it's not the sharpest but perhaps he makes up for it in other area's of the game, Brook's is not great either.

Welcome to the forum family Fox. Apart from his obvious enthusiasm,I hope he brings more than I think he has.

Reynolds was not impressive at all…

Lolohea to me plays a far more positive style of football at six. It is good that Reynolds will have some tough competition for a starting position.

Way more positive. Reynolds wasn't good. At all.

His first half, especially the first 20 was real good, the dogs went away from what was working after that, maybe Des has lost the plot

Cripes. He nearly cost them that game with a brain snap

its his brain snaps that concern me too.
i hope somehow he can get that out of his game
when he comes over to us.

He'll be starting 5/8 next season but he has 1 try assist in 11 games this season, it's a bit of a worry… If we do sign Watson then Reynolds might find himself in the 14 jersey at some stage next year if he can't improve his form. I hope he does improve obviously but if he doesn't then his salary alone shouldn't give him a mortgage on the 6 jersey.

It's like a critique of Brooks right now, Dogs have nil go-forward and Reynolds has limited options inside and out, they are a team hugely on the slide.

3 times better than anyone else Col…

Mbye at 9 with Frawley in the halves with Reynolds worked well in the 1st 40...not so much the 2nd...

The thing I like most about Reynolds is the way he leads the chase and never gives up on any play...we need that...

His brain snap at the end just epitomises what it means to the guy...seen plenty of them let go every week...losing lottery ticket this week..

If the team is picked on form I can honestly see Reynolds not making it. I think Reynolds and McQueen are poor signings. I hope I'm wrong.

Reynolds does talk a lot and his defence should be an attribute for the 2018 Tigers team, however I'm worried about our outside backs receiving a crisp pass..Lolohea does posses the ability and so too Watson, but I can't see them in front of Reynolds unless he drops his form under expectation..the good thing about Lolohea or Watson at the back… they do have the skill to create that x factor ball much like Teddy does for us now..so maybe Cleary will work on combinations around the full back? A key position in unison with these three is the development of little at hooker..I do see some potential in his game with that near 40/20 attempt last week against the knights..if he comes on next year and the combinations gel?..I am excited about the potential of our key positions ..and thanks for the welcome guys!

That's true to some extent but still, one try assist in half a season at 5/8 is just bad…It's not like they never have momentum in games either and Jackson, Josh Morris and Brenko Lee are all good options to be passing to on an edge. He should be creating more.

Reyonds is a fantastic 5/8, but I agree with you… He doesn't give good ball. He defends, he runs, he pushes the team to try harder, he is awesome.

But he does not give good ball. Jamie Lyon does, SKD does, so does James Maloney...

Look at our new backline. Reynolds and Suli arn't known for passing. Daane Milne I think is similar but probably the best of the three. It would then be up too Brooks to get the ball out OR to have a good kicking game.

Hence why I am a little worried about next year.

I was actually surprised about how poor his passing skills are, he kind of lobs a long pass that holds up longer than it should and unfortunately Brooks is not a great long pass off loader himself..the best in our team is Lolohea and Watson and them two are in the 1..unless he plays lolohea inside centre ? he has options if he secures watson that's the good news.

Well I certainly hope Cleary is not picking his team for game 1 next year on form shown 8-9 months earlier. Todays game had no relevance at all to what we are getting - they had little go forward up the middle in the second half - how good did you expect him to play? I thought he did ok.

The other point is, if all he has to beat is Watson (if he gets on the bus) for the 5/8 spot (Lolohea will be the full back) he has no chance not to be in the starting line up.

I hope he brings the same passion to the Wests Tigers. In a way, I prefer he stays at Canterbury… but loyalty is a thing of the past in the modern game.

I don't understand the Reynolds signing at all… sure he might be good for culture but having crap players is just as bad ... he's not very good

Why would he play Lolohea in the centre? He is not a centre.

I don't think Reynolds passing game is as bad as everyone seems to be making out.

Reynolds is a running 5/8 extremely quick over 30 and can create plays. Dogs have the worst attack in the NRL and Lichaa, Mbye, Frawley are the worst hooker/ half combo in the history of the NRL. The dogs have a good team on paper but they have all regressed under Hassler.
Reynolds gets the ball when everything breaks down and it's in slow motion.
