Official Moses Mbye signs till 2022..

All teams don't play the weekend of Origin 11 ..Rep weekend..so instead of giving everyone a token 2 points..ie the second BYE as in previous years were we had 3 spilt rounds this year there are only 2 split BYE Rounds…..so it equates to 25 Rounds but you still play 24 regular season games...

If Mbye comes this year he will get 2 BYES tho..

How about Tui to be offered to other clubs

Subside money for a marquee second rower

I'll X2 that .. I actually thought he was horrible last weekend .. !! He seems to take wrong option most times, and most times that option is only for him .. he put a couple of kicks in last week and look like he never informed his other team mates that he was putting in a kick .. ?? even the the grubber kick where Rowdy scored .. that was kicked into a space where Tui could get to it .. it was just lucky that Rowdy got to as Tui was checked after the kick for himself .. !!

From what have seen of Tui so far in all his games for us .. I see brilliant, I don't see him losing any weight as asked by IC, and most of the options he has taken on the field have been for himself, not the team … I don't think he is going to improve to a point where we need to keep him.

"I don't see him losing any weight as asked by IC"

Thats because he doesnt need to. Seen him up close, like a metre away recently, there is absolutely no issue with his weight!

I wish people would move on from this.

Tthere is no reason to get rid of this guy as he will be the perfect utility when Cleary moves Benji on.

^ Only problem I see with that is I don't think he would settle for being a utility. Wasn't that part of the reason he came to us? He was tired of being switched from position to position.

Im not sure about that to be honest. I know he came fro an opportunity but times change. If he happy to play that role for us im sure Ivan will accommodate him.

The ideal utility is someone who comes on and adds intensity. Tui covers positions nicely, but would not put any thrust into the game off the bench. Most weeks he would be a wasted utility.

Just cant see Reynolds lasting another three years, still not convinced that Mbye is a longterm fullback, and Liddle - can see it, but he has got to be able to sustain it.
But if it works, then Ivan has done well.

Reynolds will last as long as he is playing as a running 5/8 on the edges. Mbye is 24 and I’ll back Clearys judgement on him. Cleary has shown an ability to improve players and Mbye is physically gifted with all the skills. Liddle is just battered with injury but huge potential. We really need a backup to help him out it’s our biggest weakness along with an edge backrower and goal kicker.

Nathan Clearly will be coming I have no doubt. Brooks can easily move to 5/8\. Not sure what to do with Reynolds.

Nathan Cleary will not leave Penrith I can’t see it happening. They won’t be outbid and there’s no chance Ivan pressures him to leave a side likely of winning a premiership over the next few years. Brooks is our halfback I’d extend him at the end of the year if not sooner.

I think Penrith are the #1 team so far this year so if they win the comp they’ll struggle to keep their players who’ll be asking for upgrades so Nathan is a chance to move. If he stays it’ll be on big dollars and players like Kikau then become available ?

Maybe so. On the other hand if Mbye doesn't arrive here this year, it will be interesting to see if Tui progresses at fullback under Cleary and Hodgo's tutelage.

If we are cap compliant and still signing good players than that’s all that matters.

Someone in the know said that we had $700-800K at the start of the year in cap space, now we would have some of Suli's and Milne's cap money on top of that.

My comments are based on opinion and I stand by that

It's been reported all over this forum and by the media that Reynolds is on 750k a season, along with Mbye being on 700k for year 3 and 4 once again not saying these are the figures but I'm basing it on these numbers

Mbye and Reynolds together on a figure of 1.45 in there later years of the contract too are overs in comparison to what we could've got imo

Love Josh Reynolds's energy but mate he's been here for half a season and has already copped 2x 6 week injuries and played a total of about 50-60 mins in half a season, and there were question marks on his hammys when he signed…. I hope he carves up cause he seems like a guy you'd want around your club

Once again I'm gonna highlight the fact that it's my opinion and if you cant understand the fact that a public forum contains many different perspectives you shouldn't be on a forum if you can't accept that all us fans have the right to question the value of signings on this forum

You don't need to defend your right to an opinion, I respect that right, post as you please. There is a difference obviously between that right and my questioning the _content_ of an opinion.

I just don't get why people bother speculating about wages and relative value. Whatever has been reported, I am certain (my opinion) that the numbers are never accurate. It appears pointless, as do comments about relative value and "overs", because what do fans know about salary cap management.

**_I also don't get why people write up proposed sides each week, but that's just me._**

The day the NRL decides to publicly release salaries of all rosters, well, then we have a genuine discussion point on our hands.

Funny, its never interested me either, fifteen to 20 odd differing 1-17s in a thread with barely any discussion is zzzz

I don't get why some get upset at people proposing teams or proposing $$$$ figures

But in the same sentence how can people bag players for taking the supposed extra $$$$$ , we don't know that either …

Or accuse teams of being over the cap ....

Or questions ex players attitude to their teams .....

Most stuff on here is heresay unless it comes directly from their mouth and you hear the exact question asked we know very little

I thought we all supported the same footy team and hoped for the best every weekend , but it appears to be much , much deeper than that :nerd: (Not having a go at Ink or Jirskyr , just my thoughts )

Off topic but can someone tell me why's theres only 25 rounds of NRL this year?

To do with a stand alone origin round I think
Only 1 bye this year .

NRL probably screwed up , but they wont' admit it

As stated by others - there are no teams playing in one of the origin weeks, therefore it cannot be considered a "Round"

Yes I know , but you wouldn't put it past them on their 2018 record

I understand you replying, everything you say is correct.

Gamble will make the grade, its a given.

Will it be here though? Our spine seems to be set long term. Especially if you throw Cleary into the mix.

I would imagine he will see first grade at some stage …the never know what is around the corner has certainly upset the best laid plains ..injuries ..sickness ...lack of form can all dampen what should happened .
Keep knocking on the door someone at some stage will open it!

That's the only unknown for mine. I'd say he will get his debut here but after that it depends on how the dice fall

…. and be careful not to disagree - the personal barbs will fly!! I agree - best to ignore.

Still can’t see what you see in a Gamble but will humbly take it back if he makes the grade. I hope he does

Im not usually one to check out other teams forums but after someone put up a link the other day to the kennel i thought id stop in for a bit of a laugh as to what they've been saying about Mbye and Woods.
One character was saying we picked up the full tab on Mbye and was pretty insistent on it, couple of others saying its between $200-250k the dogs are forking out for the next couple of seasons.
So was wondering if any of the in the know chaps have weighed in on whether the dogs are stumping up or not. I cant imagine they arent but i guess you never know.
