Official Moses Mbye signs till 2022..

The Tui comparisons are crazy. The only similarities are is they can both play fullback and in the halves.

We signed Tui while he was a reserve grade winger. I don’t think Mbye has ever been dropped since he made first grade and has been earmarked for origin.

We created all kinds of problems for the Bulldogs last week with our 2nd phase play, imagine Mbye with the space we created. Type of player that can turn a good break into a try with his speed and running game.

Would probably be the fastest player at the club as well.

I'm happy with the signing, he can play. But really he's been in the same boat as Tui. Hasn't reached his potential, and hasn't been able to nail down one position. Is he a better player than Tui? Probably. But not by much.

He’s miles better than Tui. In a totally different class.

Brooks would lap Mbye..

18th man for Qld.
I’d say someone see’s potential in him.

Would've been Ponga if Newcastle let him…...

Mybe was taken as part of…with 6 or 7 other players as an emerging flogs or whatever they call it...still good experience...

They haven't named an 18th 19th man...

My comments are based on opinion and I stand by that

It's been reported all over this forum and by the media that Reynolds is on 750k a season, along with Mbye being on 700k for year 3 and 4 once again not saying these are the figures but I'm basing it on these numbers

Mbye and Reynolds together on a figure of 1.45 in there later years of the contract too are overs in comparison to what we could've got imo

Love Josh Reynolds's energy but mate he's been here for half a season and has already copped 2x 6 week injuries and played a total of about 50-60 mins in half a season, and there were question marks on his hammys when he signed…. I hope he carves up cause he seems like a guy you'd want around your club

Once again I'm gonna highlight the fact that it's my opinion and if you cant understand the fact that a public forum contains many different perspectives you shouldn't be on a forum if you can't accept that all us fans have the right to question the value of signings on this forum

You don't need to defend your right to an opinion, I respect that right, post as you please. There is a difference obviously between that right and my questioning the _content_ of an opinion.

I just don't get why people bother speculating about wages and relative value. Whatever has been reported, I am certain (my opinion) that the numbers are never accurate. It appears pointless, as do comments about relative value and "overs", because what do fans know about salary cap management.

**_I also don't get why people write up proposed sides each week, but that's just me._**

The day the NRL decides to publicly release salaries of all rosters, well, then we have a genuine discussion point on our hands.

Funny, its never interested me either, fifteen to 20 odd differing 1-17s in a thread with barely any discussion is zzzz

I don't think that's a sustainable spine.

Josh Reynolds is very broken…
Rather see something like...

1\. Mbye
6\. Brooks
7\. Cleary
9\. Liddle

If Liddle is too injury prone, recruit Liicha or Matt Parcell.

Can Josh Drinkwater play hooker?

What about Gamble?
Not much noise around him yet, but I’d like to see how he goes in 1st grade, might take a halves position of someone.

Gamble is a dud.

Really!
Seems to be doing well in isp.

Possibly the worst defender in the team.

Cleary has just completed our spine for the next 4 years. 1\. Mbye 6\. Reynolds 7\. Brooks 9\. Liddle. Tui becomes the utility back from ISP.
Marshall will retire into a role with the WT.

We need to sign a gun edge backrower, back up hooker, back up prop and back up centre or two.

If we can get a hooker and edge forward this year we will get a top 8 position.

We need a strike centre to pair with Marsters as top priority.

I reckon Fonua can be that player. Only 2 NRL games back he has been outstanding.
If he can be this good consistently he’s a gun.

How about Tui to be offered to other clubs

Subside money for a marquee second rower

Lolohea, Lawrence, Rochow, and Godinet for Taumalolo would be great  :sign:

Couldn't wear losing Lawrence.
He is the heart and soul of the team.

It'd be like losing Gibbs and Fifita for a broke down dog named Blair all over again.
