Who's next for us
Taupau
Jayden Su'A
Or Mariner
All 3 players are a possibility of leaving their clubs
Taupau salary cap problems at manly
Su'A looking for offers now
Mariner salary cap problems at dogs
Which one would best suit our club

Won't get any of them (that's reality).

As much as I'd like to believe it'll happen, have to agree, willow.

If we are paying $750k of his $900k salary…IMO its too much....I'd rather Valentine Holmes

According to the report at the start of this thread we’re paying 550,000 to 600,000 of his 800,000 contract. Dogs still have to come up with 250,000 to 200,000\. Seems OK to me.

So the Kennel now is saying they are close to signing Nick Meaney to replace Mbye - According to some on here it was a done deal here with Meaney. Aah the vagaries of NRL signings - its what keeps forums guessing.

a lot of clubs would've been looking at Meaney. I wouldn't be surprised if we were looking at 4-5 different fullbacks before we signed Mbye.

I'd be looking at one of the Sharks' youngsters (perhaps Katoa) if Barba comes home. Also the Eels' prop Alvarro, continues to improve and would be worth a look with reduced interchanges.

Haha see your stirring the pot over there with your Nathan Milone suggestion as a replacement.

Unbelievable signing if true. Only 24 years of age, has speed to burn, can play fullback or 5/8, can kick goals. For $550k an absolute bargain. Well done Ivan , doing things our previous coach could never dream off.

Thats insane! We sholud be getting them to pay atleast 300,000\. Even so I don't like this signing…. We need a natural fullback not another Lolohea

You cant say that for sure
We still have positions available
We still have money to spend
How much is the ?
And we have players coming off contract which will give us more money to spend
Does Ivan invest in no name players or is he after a proven player that can step straight into the team
What other clubs still have the big $ and are lacking 2nd row forwards
No one knows that for sure AT THIS STAGE

I really feel sorry for Thompson. He has been our best player all year and is safe as houses.

Does this squeeze out Nofa from the side?

Tui will be the one to drop out.

Or Tui becomes your utility on the bench. Kelly Egan mentioned the Tigers were after a utility. If you're looking to recruit one, you'd have to think the idea is you play one.

Given the chatter around reduced interchange, you'd think future benches would include a back/utility.

Good point didn’t think about that.

Good joke.

I think Milone has to retire due to injuries

Next two years his contract is 950K Tigers getting him for 700K Doggies paying 250K fair deal for both clubs

Also anyone see the video going around yesterday of Cory Norman on messenger ?

Hes going to get him self into trouble

Could Ivan be looking at using Mbye at 9 until Liddle is ready?

I was told on tuesday by a family member of one of our 1st graders he has signed to play fullback will be here by june 30

Sounds like a pretty weak rumour to me. Doesn't make any sense to have him here mid-season.

If the dogs are shopping players then a mid season switch wouldn’t be all that surprising.

Yes having a player of his quality for the final half of the season makes no sense At all :brick:
