Did anyone on here actually he's the messiah or anything like that? Most people are guarded but we typically agree he's better than the current FBs. He also has good utility value.

Sometimes a change of location is required to get the best out of footballers, we've all seen it before. Maybe Mbye still has more potential under the right coach, with the right gameplan. He's only ever been coached by Hasler up until this season, and Dessie was trying to force him into the halves role (sound like Johnny Cronk to me).

He's been called into the QLD Origin team, obviously in terms of esteem he's there or there abouts. Funnily enough not a single Tiger otherwise troubled for Origin.

Mbye is a runner there is no doubt the kid can run.

The reason why his not considered a clear cut gun is due to his development.

Like i said its clear cut his biggest asset is his running game and his been told to be a hooker and organising half back in the past.

Mbye position has to be to run whether its full back or a running six but you will get the best out of him if all he has to think about is to run.

A coach has the duty to to provide the best environment he can to nurture his natural ability. Dogs asking him to play hooker 7 and centre set him back given the right coach his got all the attributes to be good.

Well thats a bummer, because I feel we bought him as a utility not just a fullback but I do hope he can catch as well as run.

Yeah lets do what the bull dogs did sounds like a good idea

Yes, if thats what is best for the team. Josh Reynolds would like to be 5/8 at the moment but has said he is more than happy to play anywhere just to be in the team.

I would much prefer we use the money to front load some contracts. Let’s get ahead, be patient and then strike when the right player comes onto the market

Yeah because he had a long term injurey.

Mbye not comming here to be a utility. It would be best for the club and mbye if he locks down the full back position.

I dont know man we being patient and keep missing the top players to other teams. Holmes shrek all signed else where i think the salary cap issues to other clubs has not been as bad as WT predicted.

And who knows , we may have our irons in the fire for someone else …......

If not , as McCarry said , we front load a few contracts and wait for Mr Right to come along

For now I'd rather see Benji at full back I think. Don't know if he could handle it, but I really don't see that Mbye will be coming across. I desperately want Benji out of the halves.

Back when potter benched Marshall I thought he’d have been a great fullback but not now. It’s a young mans position- he wouldn’t have the stamina now.

Benji is much fitter now than the Potter days, I would like to try him at fullback, we need to move him out of 5/8th … he’s stifling our attack.

Way too early to think that he’s the long term solution at fullback. I guess watching him at the Dogs for the rest of the year will tell us a bit. If he doesn’t set the world on fire I’m sure we’ll get some apologists tell us it’s because the team he plays in is rubbish. That never stopped Tedesco. Speaking of Tedesco, if a gun fullback coming through our system jumps out of the ground, I doubt he’ll have to go to another club. Mbye will be shifted into another position.

Dont hold your breath. A tedesco does not come about all that often.

I have watched all bar one of Bulldogs games this year and Mbye is not the Messiah everybody thinks. Has a tendency to allow kicks to bounce, sound familiar. Remember the game against the Broncos. Lost game on the bell for pushing Darius however had ample opportunity to take that kick on the full in the first place. Will be a great addition as Utility.

It's pretty tedious people making this claim… I see nothing along the lines of everyone thinks he's some messiah... No one's saying it so cut the crap
He would however imo be an improvement to our roster
