4 years is a bit long but in saying that Mbye has a rare ability to play a number of positions well.

I assume he’ll start at fullback but if we have a junior fullback jump out of the ground Mbye can play halves or centre well. Can even cover hooker if he had to.

Hopefully he comes this year.

and can goal kick

Not any better than the kickers we already have.

But a lot better footballer than many we have !

I open he goes well at fullback for us but im not completely sold on him yet
This is his first year in a new position and yes he looks like he is a good player but the rest of the team around him is shite

I just hope he continues his good form into next year and beyond

Welcome aboard Moses

Strikes the ball better than anyone we have. Tui improved his kicking under Cleary, I’m confident he’ll do the same with Mbye.

4 years too long IMO, plus we don't get him till next year…what happens if Tui kills it at FB the rest of 2018?.

Tigers are still pushing for him to come mid year .
Mbye still wants to see out the year with the Dogs so he's not seen as being a dog !

The Bulldogs supporters have just completely turned on Mbye and Paul Kent is saying Tigers are still looking to get it done before June 30.

The Kennel is at DEFCON 1 :laughing:
Mbye is now being compared to Ben Roberts :roll

Absolutely right….Kennel has imploded and almost every single player is getting slagged off....
but on another interesting note one of them on another thread was bragging he had been to prison.... 😱pen_mouth: 😱pen_mouth:

It's like a ex you can't get over the person.

It’s a bit rich for us to be laughing at other clubs forums for turning on their players after they sign with other clubs…..

I see what you are saying but the situation is very different, the club has dug itself a massive hole and is forced to shop around a player that another club would want. Player wants to stay and not dog the boys for the rest of the season, but might be best to leave if finals are not on the cards so they can top up some other contracts.

Don't need to really describe what happened last year.

This is completely different
Our players left and deserted our club for various reasons and had absolutely nothing to do with salary cap issues
Mbye would still be with the dogs if they didnt have cap issues
Someone had to go
The Dogs supporters have a right to be angry but not at Mbye
The should be angry at Des and managment

Gone are the days where other teams would benefit off our financial mishaps and force us to pay percentages for players to play for them. 500k for the first two years, and then 750k for the next two while he is in his prime while the Bulldogs pay a flat rate of 250k p.a.? Genius

The difference is our three big heads had firm contracts on the table for over 6 months and played all kind of games…. then Cleary came along and pulled the carpet from under Moses :slight_smile:

Mbye will be here this year. The statement he requested and was granted a release after the Dogs shopped him says it all. It’s saving face. A move now makes sense 1) Dogs season is over 2) Dogs need cap space now3) Tigers have cap space now 4) Mbye picks up the increased amount 500k years 3-4 now. Both clubs and the player win.

It’s funny how Raleane Castle seems to have completely dodged critisim for her role in the dogs salary cap mess. She sure hurried off to rugby quick smart.

As for the signing - I’m not sold on it… I don’t really think he’s what we need... another player who’s not a genuine fullback but will be asked to play there anyway (he’s a 5/8 IMO). When he first came into first grade he looked like a superstar, but he’s plateaued a bit. I reckon the length of the deal is a bit long as well. Anyway, I don’t want to be too much of a downer - hopefully he can continue to improve at the tigers and turn into a first class fullback.

You guys missed my point. After our 3 signed elsewhere, the forum did collectively do a total aboutface in regards to them as players. Before they signed they were guns, after they left “well they weren’t that good anyway”. Even was reading that Tedesco wasn’t even that good. No different to how they are talking about Mbye.

I reckon it might go down like this.

2018 if Mbye comes before June 30.
* Mbye to FB
* Tui in ISP
\
\
2019
* Benji retires
* Mbye to 6
* Tui/Thompson FB

2020
* Tui leaves
* Mbye to FB
* Cleary/Brooks combo

OR

* Brooks leaves
* Cleary/Mbye combo
* Tui/Thompson or even another signing to FB

Got a feeling Reynolds will either:

a) Be a bench player
b) Ask for a release - maybe the UK?

Having said the above - what the hell would I know?

Got him for about the same price we paid Brooks

Good footy business , welcome to WT's Moses , time to live up to your Biblical name sake
