So, let's see - 60 run metres, 14 tackles, 10 hit ups. Looks pretty average to me.
Like I said, its not all about stats - leadership is important. However, they are not great statistics for a starting front rower, and when you are only on the field for about 40 minutes, how much leadership are you really providing?

Lol try again, averages for the year are better than any of our current forwards.... Josh comes the closest to him and about 40-60m average less is the gap to the rest of our plodders.

534 tackles at 95.9% tackle efficiency
142.7 meters per game

Average line breaks & penalties conceded reduced by 56% when he is on the park

Better than anyone in our starting pack.

If he is able to achieve these sorts of numbers leading our pack, I will be absolutely delighted - AND surprised. Believe me, I want nothing more than for Tamou to step up and rip in and lead our forwards in such a fashion that they become a genuinely respected unit. I just don't think he has it in him.
We will see.

On Tamou's efforts last night, we'd have been better off keeping Huth. Same player, just cheaper.
Having said that, I have no idea about his leadership qualities, but most seem to think him an excellent captain. At any rate, 2 years ain't too onerous. (Well, not compared to Packer/Reynolds/McQueen et al).

The Fact we have signed the Captain of the team that won the Minor Premiership and is likely to win the premiership will go a long way to Signing up other top line players
I think it was a very smart move
Its a little like when we signed Todd Payten

If only he also had half the skill of Payten.

He’s a lot better than Payten.

Don’t see that myself

Tamou has played for Australia and NSW. Payten wasn’t even in the discussion for origin at any point. That says it all.

Maybe because he was in the team that won the comp, people’s memories fade.

Why do people keep bringing up past accolades to justify recruitment? Today he's a plodder, don't buy him.

Yep, starting prop and captain of the best team in the comp, has lost ONE game all year. Definitely a plodder.

I’m not going to bother arguing this one any further.

And you do it again, you don't speak of his performance just of the teams he's in. The Panthers are letting him go, you're aware of that right?

I suppose you think the Broncos are letting Fifita go too?

What you're telling me the panthers are fighting to keep Tamou like the Bronc want to keep Fifita?

The plodder is killing it so far tonight

I’ll take a number of these kind of plodders any day.
Some critics of the guy on here are just full of it.
Really no idea.

He is the most important signing for us since Gareth Ellis

He may not be the type that goes ballistic but he goes forward well. Like my AU ute - just does the job well. Wish we had Yeo as well.

Great game lead from the front ..steadied the Pamfers when he came back on..broke tackles..

Yeah, I've been indifferent to his signing, but he was really good tonight. Interesting that they use him on 4th tackles for his quick play the balls. Was also strong defensively slowing down the souths sets whenever he tackled.
