Offloads

We look like a different team when we get a few of these going in the forwards.

Coach obviously decided might be a good time to try a few.

Yeah it wasn't just the forwards either, the outside backs got a bunch of offloads between them. We look like one of the more dangerous attacking teams when we start getting a few offloads and guys like Teddy, Moses and Brooks get a broken line to run at.

The coach is proving himself more of an idiot every game. If we try to win games and not play boring footy we will win more games. That will keep him in a job.

I should be happy that he appears to be learning but it's been obvious for a long time that we need to attack.

Ha ha, I'm with you Steve, I've always felt that we should try to play to our natural strengths which is providing opportunities for the halves, centres and Tedesco. It's obvious the team has offloading skills and I wonder, after last night, why so many teams have packed the strategy away in favor of dull, one out forward play. Obviously, the team needs to be making metres before you try it but if we are, why the hell not try?

Last night was one of our most productive games this season for offloads and second phase play. We should be doing it more often when the opportunity arises. Overplaying it can lead to errors though. But like many i'm dumbfounded by the lack of it in our game overall.

I look forward to your results when you get the coaching gig after Taylor leaves.

There were offloads last week. Not sure if planned, but perhaps the offloads and halves were shackled in early part of comp…...you don't make the finals in March & April. Opposition teams do adjust when they get a good look at your style of play.

That would be tops wouldn't it. I reckon we would be a top 4 team and in with a big chance of doing well in the finals.

5 offloads between Sue and Woods. Souths had no answer to our second phase play and this is something we need to contijue to build upon, it definitely adds another dimension to our attack.

Teams aren't looking for it from us so we're getting away with it. Very effective

Ban the offload for the first half of the season. Then bring it in with a vengeance once teams think it's not part of our game. Obviously a cunning strategy by Taylor.

They've been flowing since the Knights game. When Woods offloaded in the first set of that game I almost fell out of my seat.

Off loads are great when done effectively our numbers are fairly consistent if you take out the Raiders and Dogs Rd 8/10 pummelling's,…

What I found more interesting was when we have conceded less than 10 Errors we have won every game...Concede more has lost us every game...

Good post. Sheens, Potts & Taylor all believe in offloads/2nd phase but made the point on numerous occasions that the team had to earn the right to try this stuff. Our forwards were dominating and they chose the right moment to offload safely. Well done.

For mine it was the timing of the offloads that made a difference, as I felt the approach to the match was the same as the first dozen or so rounds. Same old, same old, but we generally executed well with ET adding a little variety at speed around the middle of late.
