Old Brian Smith interview on Brooksie

One thing grabbed my attention

**"I would like to see him on the right side doing it, in my opinion if he was cut loose just to run the whole game attack wise on both sides of the field and let the others work around him he would be even more dynamic"**

This honestly should happen, it has been mentioned on the forum before. What is this system where Anasta controls the right? We are getting nothing out of our lethal side, Brian now works with the club, he should have a talk to Potter about Brooks. I would love for him to control the whole side.

Thoughts?

I hate the left and right sided stuff. Especially when you have a dud in Anasta. How many tries have Nofo and Simona score this year? It is criminal.

Won't be a problem soon. Moses and Brooks will be LETHAL!

The big issue is that Moses and Brooks are both playing left at the moment in their respective sides

They have always played together, one must have played on the other side at some point.
Maybe they will get the DCE and Foran freedom, left and right but with a roving commission.

Although I understand the concept of left and right halves (and attack units) and why they have them, I d still like to see a bit more freedom.

That said most of the successful sides in the last decade have run left and right units. (excluding Manly)
In fact since the Broncoes won in 06, who given that SHane Perry was there halfback, probably had a roving Darren Lockyer, every side except Manly in '11 has ran right and left. Even when the eagles won in 08 they played left/right/

They've played together only in the juniors. So both preferring to play left is quite possible. Also they may have used a 1st and 2nd receiver set up not a left/right one

I,m guessing Brooks is a natural left hander so you would think he would prefer to play on the right as his natural pass would be on that side. And yes I know footballers especially ball players should be able to pass both sides.

My point would be Goose that wouldn't you play them exactly how they will play when they are both together

I think Potter is trying to keep things pretty simple for young Brooks in his 1st year in the big time. He will get plenty of chances over the next decade to strike on both sides. Okay seems a little predictable and easy to defend at present, but he is still having plenty of success and their is always the element of surprise in a big match with a big play on the other side.
Early days for both Brooks and this team

maybe they should. Might be another underlying reason.
