Old Wests Tigers Grand Finalists

I will stick to the boot into this club, maybe more than anybody, but you could through most clubs and they’d have this many players. Non story.
Off you go…keep in mind the parameters are the club has to have missed out on finals for the past decade, whilst players it let go went on to play grand finals elsewhere.
Be interested to compare lists.

Since there was a bit of old Wests Tigers flavour in the GF last night, I was wondering how many ex Tigers players have been involved in Grand Finals since leaving us.
Over the past 10 years whilst we’ve been flopping about like dying fish, not even making the 8, the following have achieved this;

2013 - Luke O’Donnell Premier @ Roosters
2013 - David Gower Runner Up @ Manly
2014 - Lote Tuqiri Premier @ Souths
2014 - Ben Teo Premier @ Souths
2014 - Mitch Brown Runner Up @ Canterbury
2015 - Adam Blair Runner Up @ Brisbane
2016 - Andrew Fifita Premier @ Cronulla
2016 - Marika Koroibete Runner Up @ Melbourne
2017 - Josh Addo-Carr Premier @ Melbourne
2017 - Te Marie Martin Runner Up @ Cowboys
2018 - James Tedesco Premier @ Roosters
2018 - Josh Addo-Carr Runner Up @ Melbourne
2019 - James Tedesco Premier @ Roosters
2020 - Ryan Papenhyuzen Premier @ Melbourne
2020 - Josh Addo-Carr Premier @ Melbourne
2021 - Paul Momorovski Premier @ Penrith
2021 - Benji Marshall Runner Up @ Souths
2022 - Mitchel Moses Runner Up @ Parramatta
2022 - Ryan Matterson Runner Up @ Parramatta
2022 - Nathan Brown Runner Up @ Parramatta
2023 - Luke Garner Premier @ Penrith
2023 - Tyrone Peachey Premier @ Penrith
2023 - Billy Walters Runner Up @ Brisbane

It should be noted that this list would be a lot longer if it included every player to leave this club and play finals footy.
Three cheers for our retention crew….
So you are saying that our retention crew thought that the following players were crap- Tedesco, Lote, Korobete, JAC, Marshall, Moses, Matterson. I don't think so. You named JAC three times and Tedesco twice.

Teo did nothing whilst with nor did Papenhyuzen, Momorovski (not bad but not a world beater) Brown (one game?) Garner (this forum hated him) Peachey (a complete fraud and should give us back the money we paid him) Walters ( he was never going to be here long term. Was always going back to Brisbane.

Blair was another fraud. Martin played for us for a number of years without setting the world on fire.

Players come and go. Some good, some not so much. You seem to have a lot of time on your hands, how about making a list of players we got rid of that were never heard of again.

I spent as much time writing it as you did sulking about it.

Te Maire....
Won 5/8 of the year in his grade - Both years IIRC.....
Also a Junior Kiwi.

Not sure what you mean by setting the world on fire,
But I'd be guessing that being the best player in your position in the whole comp, 2 years running is hardly being the raw prawn?

Te Maire Martin left because his pathway was blocked by Moses just as Papenhuyzen was released on the understanding that Tedesco would recommit.

It's a sobering list of players who have gone on to play GFs with other clubs, but every departure needs to be evaluated in its own context. While the club has made countless recruitment blunders, prioritising Moses over Martin in 2016 was understandable.
