Once bitten, twice shy: Moltzen staying for three more years

Not a fan - he doesn't put his body on the line in attack in defence or under the high ball…

would like to see Tim, reach and consistently play well at his full potential.
i though he went well when he was no. 7 and benji No. 6

Our 7 for the next 3 years…..until a fullback, winger, center gets injured...then its music on, march around the chairs

12 months ago we didnt want him.
A year later we offer him 3 years.

They say you need your front office working
effectively to be a success on the field.

We are a basket case!!

Unfortunately I have to agree…the three years bit (if true) is what really has me scratching my head.

And as others have said he isn't a consistent long term option at half back, has struggled with defence in the centres, I just don't know what the clubs thinking unless there is a concern Tedesco wont make it back???

Why are we constantly sticking it into our own team? Moltzen has had a lot more good games than bad and whilst we have some promising juniors to come we must stress the word PROMISING whilst we need to support all of the players.

What happens if he produces the form in the next few weeks that he did in 2010 I am sure lots of people will be eating their words.

We sign a solid player who wants to be a Wests Tigers player and like Beau Ryan loves to club.

Support the team in good and bad times!

As above leading our try scoring and line breaks and averaging over 100 m a game at fullback -no idea why you would resign him, given we have no back up halves on our book, a fullback who has played 20 mins of first grade and will have been out for 12 months with injury

I detest the fact that **he only turns up for half a dozen games each year, usually near contract negotiation time,**plus the fact that at times he doesnt put his body on the line, but…the kids a proven tryscorer with genuine speed ,which we dont have a lot of.
Cant help but think that with an established position under the rite coaching structure he could be a vey good 1st grader.
Both of which may possibly happen in the 3 year term of his contract, but with WT you never know..?

Hate to have to stick up for him again - but he played his best games last year AFTER he was told he was unwanted and (supposedly) signed by the Dragons.
That is just an ill- informed statement.
Bryce Gibbs did likewise - played great after getting told he wasn't wanted.
Surely that proves the opposite of what your inferring.

The best thing to come out of all this is we have the pleasure of bearing witness to Ck being Timmy's knight in shining armour for another 3 seasons. I must say i would have missed those moments

Nothing wrong with correcting people when they make an error , Gunner.
He did play well after being shown the door last year - some players (like Teo) turnoff and don't care about their current team.

good point!

He did roll his sleeves up and put in to the finish.

He needs to be in our top 13 somewhere, at present the only player capable of standing up a defender than hitting the gap with real pace. For all the Moltzen knockers the team goes better with him in their than out

He is our best outside back at the moment. If Lawrence gets into form there might be some competition but at the moment we need Moltzen desperately.

I'm guessing that Tauber and Moltzen talks have been put on hold with Luke Lewis coming in the market

Luke Lewis would be a better fullback ,centre ,half back or utility on his worse day than Moltzen

If we sign him , where will he play ??

He is no good defensively in the centres

He does nothing at half back when he plays there

Tedesco will \should be first choice fullback

I detest that statement, the last time he played half was at the start of the year - had a couple of bad games and hasn't played there since, he has developed and he should be given a fair run for you to make that assumption.

Well seeing we have someone who can play fullback as well as Moltz in Beau Ryan why isn't Sheens rushing Moltzen back to halfback

I can help you with the answer , because he isn't a half back .Not in the past , not currently and definitely not in the future

Show me one game when Moltzen has played well at 7 v quality opposition

Beau don't know fullback , happy.
He can catch a ball ok but his positioning in defence when we are being attacked close to the line is not there.
He also doesn't have the pace and knowledge of when to chime in- he's still up there like a winger taking dummy half runs too often.
