One Centre, One Backrower

We all know that JT has made it clear there will be no major player purchases for another year at least, perhaps two. He has also stated that the team is lacking somewhat in the centre and second row areas, so I guess it's safe to assume that players from these positions will be the first targeted by JT when, if ever, we have have enough money back in our coffers.

With this in mind, which marquee players do you think JT will be chasing for the 2016/17 seasons? Also, who would _you_ personally like to see WT sign? Which players do you think would compliment our current line up, adding that much needed spark/Xfactor in these positions - one centre, one backrower that's it.

Kicking it off, I think JT will chase Michael Jennings and Boyd Cordner. I would like to see us sign Jennings and Josh Jackson.

Id love to see greg Eastwood on our colours …
(Not sure of his current contact )

Alex Johnson from souths would be another astute pick up IMO

Don't need any. Lolo, Liolevave, Funaki are all guns in the backrow. In the centres we have Hoeter, Satherwaite, Seve and a few others in 20s who are also guns. Just stick with who we have, sorry to say get rid of Lawrence and Halatau and we are already a few steps ahead.

All pipe dreams Flip. Alex Glenn is off contract and would be a great pick up.

Yeah I know mate, but no harm in dreaming  Surely within 2 seasons we could get someone decent? And yes, Glenn would be a good pick up.

But yet again we still have to get these young guys to play that 50-80 games level before they will become experienced enough to play at a consistent level week in week out

That's 2017 - 2018

So we keep these other pretenders until then

18 ,19 and even 20 years old don't just walk in and dominate and play consistent footy

Look at Konrad Hurrell he has the size (that many of the WT's junior centres don't ) and he is still not a consistent footy player

Dunno who he'll target if anyone…we seem reactive in recruitment....but relying solely on juniors is a recipe for disaster

Exactly Ink , by the time you find out they won't cut it you have wasted 5-6 seasons on them and have let others slide

Worst of all , they are worth nothing on the open market

Relying solely on juniors also relegates you to having to wait for 3 or 4 yrs for them to start hitting their straps. Then those juniors establish themselves (if they even last) and then the process starts all over again when new kids come in. All the guys Milky named haven't even played fg. What if these ''guns'' amount to nothing, then what?

Look at the list of players we've had massive hopes for

Groat
Harrison
Mullany
Collis
BMM

Not all of them make it. Unless they are freaks like Marshall was, no player, no matter how impressive is worth anything till they prove themselves in fg.

Gun centres at NYC and NSW Cup level should be tearing it apart

Seve or Milone aren't doing that

Naiqama couldn't make a bench back rower from a Qld Cup side look bad and has played 20 odd games in five seasons

Simona seems to have gone cold and Lawrence unfortunately probably will never reach his post 2010 levels

Yes they have potential

Forget Milky's post for a second. The question was who do you think JT will chase and who would you like to see us sign?

Who I want us to sign and who we will sign will be from total separate ends of the spectrum Flip

The Milkster just about nailed it….We have some very classy damaging young forwards biting at the bit for their opportunity....My guess is at least two or three of these guys will be playing first grade on a regular basis this year as soon as the coach works out the best combination of players and positions....I don't know about the backs but I would like to see Rowdy get a run in the nines just to see if my prayers have been answered....

I think we can struggle through in 2015 in the back row , especially if we continue to play our lock tight

The real truth is JT maybe chasing these players but they certainly won't be chasing him. We again waste our Cap money by having to pay way overs to buy a decent player and the vicious poverty circle continues. Would be great if we could pay out Lawrence on an agreed settlement.

For every junior who fails to make it, we have a Woods, Farah, Teddy etc.

So what success rate is that LaT ??

Lets say best case acenario 1 in 20

How many of the current junior centres can you see playing 100+ NRL games ??
