One Centre, One Backrower

Going of Zero Tackle these are the Centres and 2nd Rowers of Contract at the end of 2015 Season

So going of the players that are available on this list ? i would say a realistic would be Shaun Kenny Dowall considering JT's ties to the Roosters and for 2nd Rower Jason Taumalolo would be a dream signing and my 1st target. I would also chase Sika Manu very underrated player .

Hope i have answered your actual question flip

what about asipeli fine he can play centre or second row, but no one on the forum seem to rate him what I have seen on tv he looked a fair play .any one rate him

I'm pretty confident with the players we have .i don't want players coming here on massive overs .ive said it before ,have faith in our strength and conditioning coach .injuries are the key to our young squad

I can't see us chasing any back rower unless there is an absolute gun international out there wanting to leave his current club.

As for centre's, I'm less confident we will develop from within so we may end up in the centre market. However, is there really many gun centre's out there? Of those that are of such high quality they would command well over the odds to come to us. If most here got excited about the ordinary SKD coming then that suggests we don't need to develop too high of a standard from within.

I have a feeling about Lawrence this year but even if that doesn't work out, I really like Heleta and believe his body will develop into a nuggety rock that will be very hard to handle running off space created by Moses, Brooks and Tedesco.

Put it this way, I would hate to sign a Sean Kenny Dowel for 3 times the amount of money than a Heleta just for the sake of buying a centre.

The management should have pencil led in potential targets in certain areas, but that's all, just penciled in. Because we all agree that all we need is one outside back and one back rower to emerge over the next 12 months to solve these problems. Look at Souths with Kirosome, Johnston and Turner all emerging in one year to win the comp.

I do agree with Happy's point about getting them experience to perform regularly week in week out and we cant wait for that, but if I had the choice between signing a lowly SKD or FPN at the expense of one of.our youngsters than its a big no from me. Give me the 2 good games followed by a shocker from a kid anyday. More exciting

For every junior who fails to make it, we have a Woods, Farah, Teddy etc.

So what success rate is that LaT ??

Lets say best case acenario 1 in 20

How many of the current junior centres can you see playing 100+ NRL games ??

I can see Simona and Seve doing it, Fine is probably a stretch.

King Sirro ,
Flips question which marquee players do you think JT will be chasing for the 2016/17 seasons?
I only mentioned SKD as to me he is the only attractive option from that list of Off Contracted players , also with JT ex ties with the Roosters makes it a real possibility with them having Blake Ferguson in there playing ranks . No other player on that list interest me , Ryan Morgan is turning out to be a good Centre and is developing his game well , wouldn't mind him to tell you the truth.
But i wouldn't loose no sleep over SKD.

I mentioned it earlier in the thread, i think Alex Glenn could be a great recruit to go after. A lot of competition for spots in the back row at the Broncs, and don't think he be beyond our reach if the price was right for him. I'm convinced by the end of the yr that depth in the back row for 2016 will be essential .

If I was chasing centres Ricky Leutele , Konrad Hurrell and Steve Matai would top the list

Matai could teach our young fellas a heap about a quality centre and a highly competitive player

Back rowers Taumalolo , Glenn and Adam Docker would be the three I would target with the hope of grabbing one

God, if that is all there is then I think that we should stick with what we have.

A lot of up and coming forwards have been named and I believe that Seve will stand up ( barring injuries ).

Your kidding Col :brick:

Taumalolo is in the Top 4 back rowers in the NRL

Myles would be a brilliant 13

Read an article yesterday that there was 15 million dollars worth of talent coming off contract at the end of the yr. Expect the Sharks to be massive players on the market. Makes you shake your head when you think that they've been at death's door financially for yrs, yet they can somehow afford to go after the likes of DCE and Adam Reynolds, and the best we can do are guys like Josh Drinkwater.

Glen wouldn't be a bad pick up at the right price , i wouldn't mind him either.

People saying "I believe xxx will step up" or "I think yyyy will make it" is a very simplistic nothing point really…no one knows if they will or not.

At least with established first graders we know theyre capable and can handle NRL....but can they handle WTs?

No point buying top liners if the rest here now dont improve a bucket load

I thought of Steve Matai and i was going to mention him but i would of got the response "yeah and his really going to come " every game he plays seems like his carrying an injury . But i do rate him though.
I'm sure Matai could move in with Farah and feel right at home

Yeah I really hate this, it's my biggest gripe. The Sharks and the Roosters can just go after anyone they want, every bloody year, no questions asked. How is it that the so called 'financially strapped' Sharks can do this?

They have already spent up big securing players like Lewis, Fifita, Graham, Carney, Gordon and Ennis in recent seasons - none of whom would have been cheap. And now they are ready to pounce on all and sundry again!

There is something fishy going on in the waters that's for sure and it stinks big time. I honestly hope they never win a premiership.
