At this stage it’s SFS. Fairly neutral area. You won’t be bombarded with Roosters stuff like you are with Parra stuff at BankWest, which happens regardless of who we play at BankWest. The Roosters are no threat to the Wests Tigers in regards to possible merger/takeover, unlike the Bulldogs and Liverpool. SFS has good easy to access central transport with parking at Moore Park when needed. Close to great food and drink. Closer to Headquarters (Wests Ashfield) and COE (Concord). Easy to get to from for out of towners as well via the Airport or Central Station if they want to attend with great accommodation nearby.

A revamped ANZ would have been ideal but that’s not going to happen for the foreseeable future. Can’t see CSS being redeveloped either. So SFS it is.

It is not in our area, we would likely be sharing with 2 other teams and it makes no sense. People complain about a lack of identity but then want to be a team called Wests playing in the Eastern Suburbs.

Because they live in the inner suburbs , and really they want the team close to them for convenience . It has absolutely nothing to do with what’s best for the club .

I live in the Western suburbs and will take an 1.5 hrs to get there by public transport .. 98% of supporters would need to travel .The clubs 2 main facilities are situated in the inner west !

Another thing as well, what if it’s built closer to glenfield , or towards Edmondson park , is that still dogs territory ? There is no territory there . It’s no mans land at the moment . Just like in many other cities , they had stadiums built in no mans land .

SFS has good easy to access central transport with parking at Moore Park when needed. Close to great food and drink. Closer to Headquarters (Wests Ashfield) and COE (Concord). Easy to get to from for out of towners as well via the Airport or Central Station if they want to attend with great accommodation nearby.

A revamped ANZ would have been ideal but that’s not going to happen for the foreseeable future. Can’t see CSS being redeveloped either. So SFS it is.

We need a stadium for ourselves , and halfway between C town and Belmore, whilst still actually being located in our catchment , near public transport , with a T way to Parra , a train station with multiple train lines , and the m5 very close , with the m7 , 10 minutes away , seems like a fairly good solution .

Because they live in the inner suburbs , and really they want the team close to them for convenience . It has absolutely nothing to do with what’s best for the club .

I live in the Western suburbs and will take an 1.5 hrs to get there by public transport .. 98% of supporters would need to travel .The clubs 2 main facilities are situated in the inner west !

Melbourne’s catchment is in Queensland…. I get that in a traditional sense it would be great to own a geographic region and have that identity but the JV has meant we have not had that. Just invest the money in the pathways and look after the juniors in those areas and make that as professional and successful as possible (which seems to be what the club is doing now).

Then the senior team can train at concord nearer to where players want to live (but is also very accessible by motorway to most of the city) and play your games at the best rugby league stadium in the world. I don’t really get the “Friday night” argument that the SFS is a bad option. The vast majority of tigers fans don’t go to the actual game and having a better located stadium for all fans means that you can pick the version of a home game that suits you best. Sometimes it might be a Friday night game after work for those near the city and sometimes it might be a Sunday afternoon game with kids and more relaxed. To run the argument in reverse, I would never be able to make a friday night game in Campbelltown so does that make it an unviable option?

On the whole “wests” can’t play in the east argument, it’s just semantics. 95% of fans are just watching a tv product. I’d love to see the clubs data on where fans/members live but my guess is SFS is quicker to travel to than Campbelltown or Liverpool.

You’re talking about identity and advocating for a stadium that has 1 teams headquarters 3-4 km down the road , and the other built into the stadium almost .
