Oh, you mean how the town of Cobargo on the south coast of NSW rallied together and supported each other during the 2019/2020 bushfire crisis? Or how civilians were out in tinnies and kayaks rescuing their neighbours in the 2022 NSW floods? Believe it or not, there are good people who do good things in both states....As a person who lived most of his life in NSW I can tell you that it really does mean more to be a Queenslander.
2011 Brisbane floods and thousands of Queenslanders, without prompting spontaneously turn up in the flooded areas to help. The "mud army", that's what being a Queenslander means.
You'll never get it until you live here.
As a person who grew up in country NSW and has lived in Brisbane for 11 years and have seen both, respectfully.... what?
I'm not sure what circles you run in, what regions of NSW you're talking about or who you've based this observation on, but whilst Origin is big up here in QLD, it is equally matched in country NSW.
There's no magic in the QLD jersey. There's no more passion up here north of the border. QLD have just had a happy knack over the years of delivering in the big moments and with their backs against the wall. It's bloody admirable, and I wish that was NSW's legacy, but it ain't.
This isn't a fantasy novel.
